Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Layoffs starting May 15th

Now that Maverick has launched and it's start of first quarter, I heard from my director that ISG and CSG is supposed to get heavy cuts.

Of course, ISG and CSG. Biggest organizations. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure.

CSG side here. My Sr Director (leader of the year) made it clear we will be affected. But she’s a liar and no one trusts her

@c9 Oh you vastly overestimate that there would be any sort of common sense regarding things like these. There's probably been "lists" floating around already since months ago, based on the original launch date and when they expect that it's settled down.

The fact that the launch was supposed to a quarter ago, doesn't matter :D

To this day I can't understand why that is, and the only plausible explanation I can come up with is that HR is too lazy to roll it back.

Bahahahahahaaaaaa good luck keeping things afloat with less sales reps. So may customers are ready to bounce as it is bc of the AWFUL support bc teams are already spread so thin. LMFAO.

I know this is BS because Dell’s been delivering WFRs on Mondays, not Friday.

The software is barely functional, yet we’re drowning in more work than ever.

Anyone who thinks tech can replace actual staff is leading this company straight into a wall. In 80% of these cases, the overhead for AI is actually higher than just hiring the people we need to do the job right.

This company is following the same old tech playbook: flushing the budget down the drain because they haven't realized that genuine talent only comes in human form.

The hemorrhaging has begun so no need to wait until the 15th. The parsing of some Corp functions showed the Business just keeps chugging. For example RevO is being going to be decimated. Go goobers

ODW doesn't go live for ISG until August.
ODW just went live, sort of, for CSG starting in May.

Too many inconsistencies with OP's outlook.

Why get rid of people at start of ODW when they may need to fix things.

I agree that ODW is the tool and process to get rid of people. It's just a matter of time.

@OP For God's sake, can we please clean out the shiit-asss leadership in ISG finally!! Leadership in ISG is the worst I've ever seen in 30 years working in enterprise IT.

@a1 Let me give you some advice. Anytime your manager says your team "might" be affected, he's telling you to start packing your things.

Blah blah blah… I’ll believe it when I see it.

CSG here...

I wasn't told this but it was heavily hinted in my 1x1 the other day that we are or "might" be hit soonish. Hopefuly this isn't true but, I guess we shall see...
