Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

State of Union

Trump just said wages have been increasing like no other. He must be talking about Jane’s raise. He definitely isn’t talking about mine.

About your 1% comment:

Who owns 80% of the world's wealth?

Around 80% of the world's wealth is owned by the richest 20% of the population, though figures vary, with some reports showing the top 10% owning 85% and the top 1% holding nearly half, illustrating extreme wealth concentration, where the poorest half owns less than 1% of total wealth. This disparity highlights a significant global wealth gap, with the richest few individuals holding more wealth than billions of the world's poorest people combined, according to Oxfam reports.

What This Means:

Extreme Inequality:
The gap between the ultra-rich and the rest of the world is vast and growing.

Accumulation by the Few:
The wealthiest individuals and groups accumulate wealth at a much faster rate, widening the gap.

Sources of Data:

Reports from organizations like Oxfam and the World Inequality Database (WID.world) (via UNU-WIDER) analyze this data.

Let me tell you... wages are doing incredibly well. In fact, some people are saying they’ve never seen anything like it. Very strong growth. Very impressive.

Now, about your raise... I can’t comment on individual situations, obviously. He’s focused on the big picture. National numbers. Historic trends. Massive success.

But if Jane got a raise? That sounds like good management recognizing excellence.

If you didn’t? I’d say this: in a booming economy, talented people have options. Smart employers know that. Very smart.

Anyway, the wage growth story is very real. Some people are benefiting sooner than others. That’s how markets work.

But overall? It’s a tremendous environment for raises. Tremendous.

This happens when the 1% make so much money it totally skews the average. If you want an accurate representation take out the highest and lowest 5%. The jobs report is also a lie and skewed by things where people are no longer collecting employment and fake jobs on every company and job hunting website.

This is how averages work - some people eat potatoes, others roast beef, on average, everyone is eating Sunday roast.

Is there anything at all that hasn't been the best under his presidentship or that he knows about?
