Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Idea for someone who wants to get WFR'd

I see here people saying they want to get WFR'd etc....and complain about the company.

Why dont one of you send a teams message or email to MD and tell him how you feel directly. Tell him what were all thinking which is that JC is ruining his company and ki-ling the entire morale of the company.

Whats the worst that will happen? Youll get canned which is what you want anyways, or at best he-l actually talk to you about it.

Or, just ask you managed to be laid off. I know plenty of people that have done it.

I sent the discrimination directly to him via email after I was continually harassed by Co workers and leaders that allowed. Posted on LinkedIn too.

He never responded. I say you all join One2Gration and begin working with TechP.

This is one of the d-mbest posts on this site. Nice work and no wonder you’re still there. Are you the genius behind Dell Sales Chat?

@cm I took a different approach. Had a great relationship with my manager, (a VP) and HR biz partner, with a solid brand throughout my career at EMC / Dell spanning 26 yrs. Having reached my financial goals for retirement, I played my first card at 62yrs old, telling my manager I was interested in looking at going part time (which was an available option at the discrection of a VP at the time. Not sure if that's still available) and eventually winding down to retirement. I cited commitments to care for my ageing parents as one of the driving factors. He stated he'd absolutely support it, and suggested I connect with our HR partner to discuss. Of course, I was prepared for the next discussion with HR, where they asked If I'd be interested in a package. We were able to time things so that I was able to take advantage of all the benefits I was entitled to, WFR'd 12 months later. That gave me plenty of time to put the finishing touches on my financial plan and map out health care needs till I qualified for Medicare. Pretty seamless - again, assuming one has a tight relationship with their leadership chain. One year into retirement, couldn't be happier and more thankful for the career opportunities along the way. Enjoy the journey!

There is a distinction between getting WFR:d and getting fired. In the first scenario they pay you off to leave, in the second you just leave. If you are OK with the latter, there's no need for any messages, just quit.

I got tired of waiting for a layoff package and quit. I was ready to retire regardless and walking away on my own at 60+ gave me a good feeling.

Michael requires all comms to himto be created in Word, otherwise he won't read it.

"Fired" does not equal "laid off."

It's cute how you assume MD knows how to read Teams messges.
