If you think we're paying for the acquisition any way other than layoffs, you haven't been paying attention. What's the easiest way to cut costs? Layoffs. What has this company done every time it needed to save money, especially more recently? Layoffs. More of the same is coming.

@1w3 Maybe you are the one playing favorites and should be fired. Karma will get you.
@1xa Again You are an id--t.
@1s2 how’s your cost of living is my problem? Ever heard of meritocracy? You must be doing menial labor easily replaceable by AI. I have bad news for you - cost of living in India or even Poland is much lower, so by your own logic you are already on the loosing side. Why would they pay for your expensive cost of living? Su-ks to be you if your location is the only card you have during comp negotiation.
Why so much concern over Caribbean remote workers earning NY salary?. Great for them. They’ve been granted favorable terms because they are favorited. That’s life.
@1m6 This is serious. I hope someone is looking into this.
@1r1 let me guess…Dum--ss!
@1r1 You are an id--t. Compensation is always tied to location. Ever hear of cost of living? Not even sure why I am arguing with you. You can’t argue with stupid.
@1m6 really? Compensation should not be based on merit and market competition, but on location? What else, should the government define salaries maybe? Let me guess - Mamdani voter?
I have no issue with remote workers BUT I have a problem if their salary is not aligned to their remote location. If this is truly happening, they, their boss, and HR should be held accountable.
@1k1 lol
@1br I believe DE wouldn't lay people off in this economy.
@173 Both sides are at risk! No one is safe. Don’t be delusional.
Yeah, it's not rocket science. Two big companies coming together equals LOTS OF DUPLICATE ROLES, which you can say bye-bye to. Paramount is in charge here though, so I think WBD employees are more at risk. Although of course SOME will come from Paramount too (bye-bye to the Paramount+ team, for example)
@112 you are very unprofessional. How do you have a job??
@112 sounds like you are a Caribbean Remote Worker and are easily offended AND afraid of being called out. OR you are their boss.
@sd you'd swear the Caribbean workers crawled up your a-s and died, they've got you hopping mad and more bitter than a baby-proof battery. You're the kind of short and probably bald loser DE wants building his incompetent nepo monopoly of entertainment slopaganda for the d-mbest and most selfish people on earth
@ka The Caribbean remote workers will be spared as usual. They will still collect their NY salaries and work from the beach each day. Cheers.
Hopefully they spare real hardworking contributors this time around instead of the bloated managerial class who never contributed anything to this company. DE would transform this company if he did that.
@gj Not everyone. Many of us believe in DE.
Why are you stating this like it’s some revolutionary concept? I don’t think there’s a single person in this company who doesn’t realize that layoffs are coming as soon as the ink on the merger is dry. You can’t combine two huge entertainment entities with tons of overlapping functions without shedding a lot of excess weight. DE was already quoted as saying they will need to cut $6 billion, and while it won’t all be people, yes we should expect a bleak outlook towards the end of the year.
No doubt, but does anyone know when layoffs will happen?
All the while the most incompetent and dishonest folks in the company get exemptions based on favoritism.
DE is offering Paramount folks a shot at the new American Dream. I doubt the layoffs will be brutal. Trust the process.
Over the decades this these companies have had layoffs just out of pure greed so don't kid yourself, economics of the company are on paper and they can see the numbers at any time to make an excuse
@c2 there were buyout offer after buyout offer if you've been here 25yrs. How many opportunities does one need.
@c6 lol rots of Rick fool
There will be no layoffs. I trust DE.
Holding out hope for a buyout, personally. That’s just me, though (25+ year employee)
Ford anyone who has theirs head in sand, fancy a look at the statements DE has made about his AI plans. Also look what happened with recent Oracle layoffs
Agree with this unfortunately
