Thread regarding Global Payments Inc. layoffs

Severance

I'm considering asking to be included in the RIF in February 2026. For those who have been impacted, can you please share what you were offered as an exit package?

The constant fear and dread of working here is just overwhelming. I can't do this anymore. I have quiet quit many months ago along with several peers. Looking for real life details. My thanks go to those who respond.

@c6 It isn’t a rumor, I was partake in this months rif and trying to find a job su-ks. AI is kicking out resumes based on certain criteria that doesn’t align with the job descriptions. So many of us are not even being reviewed. I wish everyone good luck and God bless. Life is real but God has us in this trying time.

My biggest problem was Georgia Dept. Of Labor not paying unemployment and not answering their phone.

So I sued GDOL. A states attorney said you can't sue the state (ha,ha,ha). My reply "See you in court. I hope you like the 90 minute drive to Columbus from Atlanta".

Well 2 nights before my court date my checking account started getting dozens of payments from GDOL.

11 years at TSYS / GP, got RIF'd in August. I got two weeks pay for every year I was there, My check was $31.9k Severance + $5.5k COBRA Subsidy for a total earnings of $37.4k. After taxes, it hit my bank account at $26.3k. You also get a month free of a career transition coach, which is SUPREMELY helpful, definitely take advantage of that. That said, market su-ks for some careers right now. I'd rather have the certainty of a paycheck and job hunt on the side. It may take you months to find something, and that severance money goes faster than you think.

From what I've heard terms are two weeks of pay for every year of service up to 6 months worth. Why you waiting until February? I doubt it will be that long before the next one! So many folks saying it's coming in May there has to be something to it. I would almost feel relieved at this point if I were let go with some pay to get me on my way. Seems like it's just a matter of time for all of us at this point. Tired of worrying about it and "surviving" while I watch good folks get shown the door.

I didn’t think we had an option for voluntary severance/lay off. I am sure at that point leadership just tells you to quit your job? I would consider opting in for a severance pay out. I have been on the verge of quitting but with all the RIF rumors swirling about I’m kind of just waiting to get let go and at least walk away with a payout.

You’re trying to pre-plan being laid off a year 2026 in advance?? Why not just ask to be laid off this May 2025?

What kind of leader would be sharing this type of information? Only causes fear.

Ps. How do you know there is going to be RIF in February 2026? That's pretty far away to predict. In the most recent threads I am seeing a rumor it is happening in May of this year.

I got laid off after 10 yrs at the end of August 2024. I think they let go like 2400 - 2700 of us. I got let go the day I hit my 10th yr anniversary as I came to work for tsys a 2nd time in 2014. I was previously at tsys from 2004 to 2011. I took a 3 yr break. My severance after taxes was 25k. The total before taxes was 35k. I spent the large majority of it to relocate for another job in atlanta ga. Columbus did not have any new opportunities. Not much employment in the tech field in that area. I think the terms for my severance was 2 weeks pay for every year I worked. It equated to 5 months pay.
