Skunkworks was formed because Doggy was too lazy to take care of FNV4 remotely from California. He failed miserably and blamed everyone but not himself.
The p. iece o.f sh.t wanted go to work in white sippers and really hated winters in Michigan. Now he has the all convenience , and his muti-million mension is nearby.
I wouldn't bet on it. They'll pick the most competent people and let the go instead.

Problem with Farley's vision is it is too late, China already won the EV race. You don't need to hire a bunch of Apple Cobblers to figure that one out.

they always need them because the dearborn bureaucracy and ridiculous policies slow everything down to a crawl.
Every company has its advanced development teams aka skunkworks ( a term coined at Lockheed many years ago). I'm on one. Its a fun, furious, fast paced environment. So it will exist forever, just like all companies unless they simply build widgets.
