The firm cannot function without Limited Partners. We are the engine, the gas, the tires — everything that makes this machine move. The General Partners may steer the wheel, but we’re the ones doing everything else.
And how do they thank us?
By giving us crumbs while keeping the feast for themselves.
By replacing us with offshoring.
By rolling out a half-baked AI strategy designed to “replace entire divisions.”
By telling us to “do more with less” — while they take more and give less in return.
I once stumbled upon a retired GP’s account holding $110,000,000. Meanwhile, most of us have to fight tooth and nail for the smallest raise — squeezing water from a rock.
They market slogans like “Let’s Find Your Rich” while gutting the partnership we built. They preach “One Edward Jones” while treating Limited Partners as disposable. Our GPs aren’t just taking advantage — they’re selling us a mirage.
So, what can one person do?
Start talking. Quietly, to those you trust. Every single LP I’ve spoken to feels the same — the company we loved is being taken from us.
Here’s the truth: the firm still cannot function without us. We have the power to bring it to a halt — but that window is closing as offshoring accelerates. Soon, there will be too few left to speak up.
This is a partnership, not a one-way street. I’m proposing we begin with a firmwide mental health (sick) day on September 1st and 2nd.
Legally, they cannot retaliate. Our unity will send a message they cannot ignore: we will not go quietly into the night. We will not be worked into exhaustion while they line their pockets.
The opportunity to influence change is here, right now.
Spread this message. Text it to those you trust. Share it until it’s impossible to ignore.
Change does not come from silence. Change comes when enough people stand together and say: No more.
