Seeking recommendations for a good employment lawyer

After today’s HR email eliminating NRE status (which I just achieved this year), and being a CL 29, where each PA continues to be the Hunger Games, I feel I need to have the name of a good lawyer in my back pocket… just in case….

1) Who can recommend a strong employment law firm?
2) Does anyone know of successful employment law cases against EM (specifics beyond hearsay)?

So 2 nsis in 5 yrs. That’s taking away nre? To me if you can find a lawyer that has no problems going for a discovery, you will win out of court.

@c3 There’s lots of anti-discrimination laws that slimy employers wiggle their way around all the time.

They’ve been sued enough times over it to know how difficult it is to adjudicate.

The ADEA prohibits employers from discriminating against individuals who are 40 years of age or older based on their age. It applies to:
• Hiring, firing, promotions, layoffs, compensation, job assignments, training, and other terms and conditions of employment.
• Covered employers include private companies with 20 or more employees, as well as state and local governments, employment agencies, labor organizations, and the federal government.

@a4 Plot twist: they get managed out of the company and (deliberately) buried in procedure.

Legal costs pile-up, their counsel withdraws, and they file for bankruptcy.

The advice you’re giving is terrible.

@Everyone else: do not take legal advice from online message boards.

@OP This is the wrong place to be asking this question.

I would suggest doing a deep search that includes a detailed review of related cases won (and lost) by whichever attorney you’re considering.

From what you posted I’m not sure how strong of a case you have, or what you would even sue EM for. A licensed attorney can offer better guidance.

@a3

How many other companies have a pension that provides a very clear benefit to terminating employment before 55?

Google 2022 osha mandate to reinstate 2 geoscience employees for illegal termination for leaking information. Claimed performance issues. Mandated to pay 800k and rehire.

Also look up The Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) is a federal law protecting employee-sponsored retirement, health, and welfare benefit plans. It sets minimum standards for private-sector plans, ensuring fiduciary responsibility, providing information to participants, and establishing mandatory claims and appeal processes.

Apparently em law was absent when they taught that at law school, oh, but they have never seen the inside of a court room and always need to go to outside counsel. Get put on pip, get your lawyer to review and send note back, watch the tough talk turn to crawfish.

Very few have won any money and your lawyer will keep a third of it after 5 years of litigation. Other companies do not have NRE, so XOM is going above and beyond what law requires.
