Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Reciprocal Tariffs

So much for your plans to outsource to China. Happy it backfired. Bunch of losers running this company. As opposed to focus on our operational inefficiencies and failed leadership direction, they instead wanted to build it in China. Now we need real leaders more than ever who don’t punt for cheap labor, but can actually run a damn company. So much for your China Car hubris Jim, maybe you should go find a job over there since you raved so much about their product.

America First equals paying more for everything. For people that thought the pandemic inflation (oh, sorry, you were probably told that it was all Biden's fault anx he somehow triggered global inflation...), just wait until you have to pay US labor rates for everything. Not to mention no opportunity for export since no other country i as going to buy our overpriced products.

As a general rule, beware of anybody with really simple solutions to complex problems. They are probably just clueless. Tariffs fall into this. It's not a republican vs Democrat thing, everyone that actually studies this stuff agrees.

This is a simple one for management - Ford needs to align to America First or will fail. They have 30 days to get the ball rolling in this direction.

Billy & Jimmy have been sending your jobs to Brazil, Mexico, India... and they have been using the H1B's and contractors for sometime to replace you.

Funny how they keep the useless supervisors, LL6's, LL5's ++ who make bad decision after bad decision then are replaced next useless person who kissed a lot a##.

Ford is not based on merit but social standing.

First they came for the badge swipes
And I did not speak out
Because I worked from home
Then they came for the laptop login locations
And I did not speak out
Because I logged in from Dearborn...

@c1+1jnj4bjv3 you sound triggered! LOL

Truth is that millions of people in India are now fully educated in engineering. And will do your job for 1/4 of the cost. Tariffs will bring manufacturing back onshore. Something has to give and that's white collar work going offshore!

That is the future! LCCs for salaried work. High paying, Union protected manufacturing jobs in the USA!

That's why you mad, bro! College is a scam. I can make six figures now by bolting a part on a vehicle.

I guess you could always move to Bangalore and work in a hot office for 1/4 of your current salary though!🤣

Don't worry, our feckless leadership is tracking badge swipes and laptop login location as part of their "SMART" objectives. All is well, badging and logging into a Ford office will fix all problems. Recalls, quality, warranty costs, sales decline, and tariffs too.

@c1 chill the game is rigged. Large employers see employees (resources) as a cost item. If the resource cost increases they look for ways to decrease the cost, LCC / influence govt policies to flood the market with college educated engineers. Now you see lack of skilled trades so those salaries are increasing, and policies are changing to increase # of those employees in the pipeline.
My dad was lucky to get in on the golden age of plant working 1950s+. I was lucky enough to get in on the golden era of IT 1980s+. Children have been thru many career shifts and Grands are starting down that path as well.

@a6+1jnj4bjv3 tired of people like you. open your BIG MOUTH about salaried people. funny how when i intern at a plant all the old timers both hourly and salary told me to make sure you finish school. They knew the gravy train was not going to last. When I retired I had job offers that were equal to or more in pay. Can you say that if the oval went out of business? Stop with the class warfare you only demonstrate your ignorance.

Tariffs don't keep them from sending salaried jobs to LLCs. Maybe all you salaried workers can apply at a newly opened plant after getting canned. If you can take actually going in and working for a living.
