Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Takeover and bailout rumors seem bogus

Probably some hedge funds forcing a short squeeze.

Who would want any of Intel’s “assets”?

@c1, yes clean room space is valuable. Intel is good at tool reuse, so is there really a market for old tools? As far as well maintained that’s subjective.

@de.. interesting viewpoint since there was a time when Intel had around 90% of each of those markets. Intel also used to have revenues of nearly $80 billion. Margins used to be in the high 60% range. If you can't see the dramatic declines than you really are delusional. Stick your head back in the hole everything is fine up here...

If the tools are just sitting around unused…uhhhh…can we take ‘em?!? And SELL em!?! Don’t just stand there with your thumb up your butt - DO something!

Factories and tools are depreciating and idle due to lack of demand.

Refer to the massively negative cash flows.

The IP may be stale but the factories and some tools have value. They take a long time to build and have been well maintained.
