Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Sociopathic

Our executive staff, presidents and SVPs are sociopathic, narcissists who are megalomaniacs. They don’t care who they sc--w over, how or when. They will do anything for power, money and greed.

They lie right to our faces and don’t care. They skirt the line of legality very close and constantly push it.

Dell is a very very mentally harmful and abusive place to work now. It wasn’t always like this. We used to have good people in these positions. They’ve either all left or got let go.

If you are thinking about coming here don’t. If you haven’t left yet, you should.

Also EMC used to rank in the top 20 companies in the world to work for. Now Dell cannot even make the top 20 in the state of Utah.

Don’t forget the C suite. Those are the worst.

@ez That's funny, since the merger dell has been systematically removing EMC folks from any place of authority/power.

“Dell su-ks, EMC was perfect!”
“EMC su-ks. Dell was great!”

SO. FREAKING. TEDIOUS.

If either company was so great, there would have been no acquisition. Stop idealizing the past. Plenty of blame to go around.

That's funny. Dell was an amazing place to work until the EMC merger. The EMC management came in, for whatever reason was put in charge in so many places, and proceeded to destroy years of good efforts with their lack of knowledge and misplaced arrogance. Everything was a lot better prior to that purchase.

Dell has been like this the 10 years I have worked for them. EMC was a truly amazing g place to work for, but practically on day one of the dell takeover things changed. Our manager refused to get on board with the d-mbassery the execs were pushing and got terminated. He was replaced by the most toxic piece of work I have ever worked for. She didn't last long, about 6 months, and was replaced by another POS that was toxic af. About a year after that they "reassigned" that manager and combined our team with a team of folks from the dell side. The manager of this team is also a toxic piece of work, but is at least minimally tolerable. After getting to know my teammates that had been with dell for many years I learned that toxic af managers have been the norm for the last 10-20 years.

I guess you can't really argue with a system that's served the uni-party for decades.

I got backstabbed twice by directors at Dell. Once by a stupid person who was in way over her head and tried to save herself by throwing me under the bus. It didn’t work but even though he found out that she had lied, he still destroyed me. The second time, he told me I was safe, please keep working, he needs me to complete the major milestone I was working towards. I finished it and the next day he ambushed me, laid me off with 3 days notice.

God I’m so glad to be out of there.

If you are having friction between you and your colleagues because they have too much to do and they aren't getting back to you, remember, they didn't do this. The people that run the show chose to do this. Workers can only do so much. I get it that some people are quiet quitting but for some people, they are just trying to do their job.

There are a lot of rumors around what will happen for the beginning of August and this adds to the turmoil.

There is race to keep shareholders happy. If you can't grow your way out of it, they choose to cut. They are cutting to see how far they can go without really breaking it. The fact that the corporate Tell Dell video to Dell personnel was very vague is an indication that they are getting a huge dose of negative sentiment.
