Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Compensation letters next week

If you are being laid off would you get one? If you get one are you safe? Will layoff notices come at same time?

Who cares, grow a pair. You were looking for a job when you found this one, you will know how to look for another job as well. Get over it.

I got a 4% raise and then got laid off the next month. At least it added a little more money into the severance package.

Heard today rewards budget is actually pretty good. Maybe a positive step to retain talent? TBD next week.

I don't believe OP really expects an answer to these questions.

Compensation letters are a normal part of business that have nothing to do with layoffs. Even if Intel reduces its workforce by 20% it means 80% of current employees will still have jobs. The letters are just letting you know what your compensation will be going forward.

I'm waiting for my unemployment package. It comes with food stamps.

These are all just sequenced lists. HR will draw a line in it.

I don’t think @c0+1jtntq2j4 knows how it really works.

It’s Intel baby, you can get rise from one organization and fired by another that have no sync between them

Also, managers aren’t included in the conversation it’s HR driven.

Ahh yes so many PhD physicists in HR.
They know best.

Hey folks raises are effective until July. Also, managers aren’t included in the conversation it’s HR driven. Sorry to put rumors to rest.

I'm sorry OP, it is the Consolation letters which will go out next week, followed by you being perp-walked off the premises by security.

@aj

The managers are lying to you

Certainly if your manager acts surprised to see that you got a raise, that would be a clue.

Moreso if your manager starts cursing or laughing hysterically, or of course if they have already ghosted you.

This is one of the cruel “tricks,” the managers will play. They full on know at this point who will be affected. Lists have been made and approved already. But they will hand and go over these salary plans and smile and thank their employee. Go through all the motions smiling while full on knowing they will get terminated very shortly. They are snakes don’t trust them

What is wrong with people? What sort of a stupid a-s question is this

Pay close attention to the comment section of the comp letter.

If it states 'Ya Shoulda Taken The Package', then take that as a clue.

I don't believe OP realizes their raise will be stated as -100%.

Don’t be ridiculous. Why WOULDN’T they tell you you’re getting raise?

HR’s most happyfuntimes are in the building up of someone before cutting off their legs.

Plus, to your point, they wouldn’t want to expose their thinking on a such a carefully guarded, nuanced, well-thought-thru secret.
