They want to offshore everything, everybody and their mother. US employees don’t matter, US clients don’t matter, and the US health system doesn’t matter. It's just money, and preferably right now. They don’t care if offshoring will ruin the remnants of health services quality that we still (somehow) have. Just leave. Change industry if you can.

@bzc+1u8KE0a7 - the "challenges" that Witless keeps referring to--the reasons for the layoffs--it's because CMS has said they're going to audit what UHG is billing. UHG lobbied against, and now they're going to do a ramp up. but seriously, the reason for the massive profits is that WE WERE BILLING THE GOVERNMENT WITH NO OVERSIGHT. there's tons of proof that UHG has been overbilling CMS in the billions of dollars. you think that the government should just give a for-profit company more more 'cause they want to keep their profit margins fat and juicy? you know where the government gets its money? US!!! I don't want to pay more for social security and federal taxes because a private, for-profit company wants to whine about the cost of labor impacting their juicy quarterly num-nums.

not to put too fine a point on it, ...but you're working in the private sector in America. it's ALWAYS been about profit. seriously--layoffs have been a thing since the Industrial Revolution (google it.) when you start working for a for-profit company, there are certain expectations. one of them is that they're FOR PROFIT. so yeah, they're going to stick it to whomever they can for however long they can so the money keeps a-rollin'. I'm not saying that's a good thing...just that pretending otherwise is intentional ignorance.
Just wait till they lay u off. Than you can get a severance package , some unemployment and a nice vacation so u can detoxify. Than find ur job. Who want to miss all the shi!! Show that our managers dish out, the constant threats, the bullying .
I’ve received an offer in a completely different industry, and after 13 years here, the thought of leaving is difficult. Despite the rumors of layoffs and periods of low morale, I've continued to push forward, committed to my work. The new offer provides similar pay, slightly more, but the uncertainty that exists there, much like here, gives me pause. Should I take the plunge and pursue the new opportunity?
