Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

the new XPS 14 with Intel Panther Lake leaves Apple M5 MacBooks trailing behind!!

Once again Intel is mighty again and DELL wins big from this! The new XPS 14 2026 with Panther Lake are kicking the a-s of MacBooks with M5 in terms of performance and battery life. DELL forever!!

@dm FWIW my 16 year old dell laptop still runs like a top. I switched to a Linux OS because of Microsoft's attempt at forced obsolescence and now it runs better than it did with its original windows 7 OS.

not just supported...they'll still be running like they did on day one.

Apple M5s will still be supported in seven years. THe latest Dells, not so much. They will be declared obsolete after three years.

@bz - their product quality and support is leaps and bounds better than Dell's. It's unfortunate. My last XPS had 8 warranty repairs in 4 years. It sat on a table and never traveled. The Mac I replaced it with 4 years ago has had 0 repairs.

It's just going to get worse as Dell pushes to a lower price point and continues to axe our good support team members.

Doesn't matter. You could put an apple logo on a Commodore 64 and the apple fanboys would still flock to it and declare it is the best thing in the world.

You mean kudos to Intel they made the CPU right? Dell just assemble around. Any other PC builder can do the same.
When sh.. hits the fan is when you have to deal with the cr-p that Windows has become recently. At least Dell offer one model with Linux support.
