Is anyone actually planning on going to the office 3x a week until their official last day?

@ey I will still be working, but from home. Why schlep to the office so everyone can see me and "feel bad that I got laid off"
It is business as usual until off payroll date, if Verizon is paying you to do a job and you’re not doing a job, then that is considered stealing and they can fire you before being laid off and you will forgo your severance
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." Colossians 3:23-24
@cq you’ve got to be kidding me. I cannot imagine having to keep working after I’ve been laid off.
If you have a good boss, they will let it slide and let you work from home but that is slim to none.
Guess it all depends how good your severance package is. I continued to work as normal because I was not taking any chances with my 24 years of severence
@bz yes. My Sr Director expects me to come back to work on monday until Feb 20 since i am still on payroll.
Your full time job until off property is preparing for what is next. Take full advantage of the outplacement and training resources. The only people that will be working through this are ones who think they might get one of the small number of openings or those expecting (or wanting) to come back as a contractor in 6 months and don't want to burn any bridges.
I have never asked an employee to work after being notified. Anyone that does is an a$$hole.
@a4 Im so thankful I'm not anything "in jersey." and buckle up they are not untouchable
@a2 Absolutely not. Your job is to now take care of you and find a new job and wishing you the very best of luck.
My last day is 2/20/26 and I will make one trip to the office to collect my personal items, and have zero plans to open my laptop ever again. Those left still employed can figure sh-t out on their own without me.
@a2 I have been told by my Sr Director that they are not expecting to work full time but they will give me special projects. Then after few hours, my Sr Director told me to take some time off since I have used any of my vacation days this year. I dont know how they can expect someone who got laid off to focus on work when the priority should be finding a new job. But I will just play it along. I even have to go to team meetings which will su-k. How can you face people. I have been crying all day.
Retail reps that got let go are expected to work through 12/31 bau which is insane especially if they were already underperforming or under a written warning for performance wouldn’t an additional bad month make grounds for term ?
Last rif I found a buddy who was impacted and only learned in office as he was trying to navigate workday. Help him with his searches and landed him a band up out of it. Personally, I wouldn't rto, but networking trying to land a job might be beneficial. Just my two cents.
You are not expected to report to work from 11/20 (notification day) until your off the books' date, unless it is for transitioning your current workload and contacts to somebody else.
Oh my god. Absolutely not. I’m not even opening my laptop.
You should have been a 2nd liner in Jersey ...they are untouchable and they know it !
I honestly don’t think leadership wants you to go into the office. I think I read on this site that your security badge is actually disabled?
We’re not expected to work, are we? If we’ve been laid off?
Nope not going in idc
