Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Is PIP turning into the favorite attrition tactic?

Lately I've seen more and more people getting put on PIP, most with zero prior performance issues.

@by lol good luck buddy. Dell will win 100% and will gladly drain you of every penny you have for your billboard sign lawyer.

PIP's are almost exclusive to metric based job positions such as sales and tech support. Most jobs realistically don't have measurable metrics which means, a PIP is not even an option.

I've heard of increased rumors of PIPs around SalesChat usage and Activity Sync.

Which I chuckle about every time my manager brings up in meetings because idgaf if i use SalesChat once per week, they ain't firing somebody who brings in a half-billion of revenue per fiscal year for a silly KPI miss lol

@by Good luck with that. The courts and our corrupt govt favor big corp every time. That's where their tax base comes from. They don't give two shiits about employee rights.

I will sue them immediately. I have nothing to lose because I want a SEV PACKAGE!! If they give me a PIP after many years of making them millions and every single year having excellent performance, I will probably sue my boss, too, for harassment and constructive dismissal. Try me, mofos, it will give me something to do in retirement!

I think with One Dell Way, if you are not adopting it at the speed they want, you will be on some sort of list to be let go. There has to be some sort of process that they are going to execute on to let people go. I think they wait for PCs in May, watch, then watch again for ISG in August. All the while watching the so-called underperformers not adopting fast enough for One Dell Way. The number of employees have been going down about 10% each year since 2023. I have to think they are looking for something more than 10% this year. Your guess is as good as mine. 15%, 20%? This is why One Dell Way must go forward. I think if it doesn't go forward as expected, expect even more cuts. Again, pure speculation.

I haven't heard about it. Then again, people may not tell other people about it. I think if One Dell Way touches you and you see it saving you time, consider your job on the line. They haven't introduced it to make you faster. They introduced it to see if they can get another person to do more more and get rid of you.
