Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

@OP ELT says it is the same as last year, just split over 2 cycles. Not close to the truth as no one on my team will get a merit increase this time around and RSU awards are lower as well. I already had difficult conversations to LR parts of my team and now going to be more difficult conversations starting on 9/18 when I give out the “rewards”.

So did I misunderstand it, or was one round going to be pay raises and the other going to be stock awards?

Yes, you misunderstood

It was this way before so those with less than 5 years at csco can bite one. Start whining when they cut or cut out the bonus plan for non sales teams or non customer facing roles. Don't think that isn't in the plan somewhere.

They are coaching leaders to focus on grade 9 and below this first part of the cycle. The rest will have to wait 6 months.

@by I think it’s to actually cut “high performers” let’s be honest performing at Cisco is just wasted energy and no matter what you do it will not be valued. If anything these so called high performers are so asleep at the wheel they don’t even realize they are next on the chopping block. Literally dead men walking. However, I do love Caught Robbin’s work on this. It’s ingenious and you plebs will do nothing.

Look at bright side, if you are the high performer (or so call - critical to retain) in the team, you could get two raises in FY26.

Just sounds like another way to sc--w everyone. I bet what ever timing is involved with this and the upcoming big layoffs after Q2, saves them money somehow.

I learned long ago not to expect financial compensation from the company so I decided to give myself a raise, work less hours and improve my quality of life.

Yet everyone will be happy just to have a job

What does that mean in practice? Do they throw you half of the bone you deserved or will they throw bone at you later (until may). Of course assuming they haven't chopped you off yet

@a6 you get four reviews since you are on a PIP for even asking that question

I've been subject to this tactic: just not getting a review at all

eventually I had to force the issue, but Cisco save some $$$ by delaying

I was too early in to my tenure here to realize I was being played

now I know

So is it two reviews per year? Or one review with merit reward split in two?
