I’m currently working remotely from the U.S. (New York), and I’m considering a short trip to Toronto, Canada. I wanted to ask if it’s permitted to bring my Aetna-issued laptop and work from Canada for a few days. I’m not sure what Aetna/CVS policy is regarding international remote work, so I’d appreciate any clarification on whether this is allowed.

@1zj I work at one of the major companies you listed. One can, but A. the amount of time one can do so is limited, B. one simply can't do it from certain countries (as in, your access gets temporarily cut if you try to work in Russia or some other countries that are problematic).
@by This must be the only company that does not allow to work from outside of the US. All large-scale companies like Microsoft, Apple, Oracle, Johnson & Johnson, McKesson, United HC, Walmart employees are allowed to travel to international destinations with company issues laptops and work from other countries.
Don't ask from anyone or Don't Tell. Use a US VPN.
@ja+1k0jwxj1z just run it through an Indian VPN service. CVS loves Indian IP addresses.
Not allowed unless you get an exception from your Manager. I could not take my laptop outside of my home unless for corporate travel.
Your ip will be flagged for not being in the US. Don't do it
I would let your manager know if possible. They will most likely get a report of your login geolocation and question you on it after the fact.
There are people from all over the world working for CVS.
Was just in Dryden on vacation took laptop along in case signed in 3 different times no prob
@OP That is a question you should be asking your manager and not a layoff website :) Enjoy your trip to Canada.
To the people below saying you cant work out of the country, I’ve know a handful of employees in enterprise comms who have worked from Europe.
You’re not allowed to take Company computer out of the country.
No, u can't work out of the country
