Work from home here to stay, return to office go away.
Otherwise? You can kiss my aśs.
100% that remote work is a fundamental societal change. And the genie is out of the bottle and won't go back in. Workers got a taste of WFH, like it, feel more productive, and now managers say RTO. Not gonna happen.
It like the Internet in the 90's. Some companies adapted to the new ways of doing business online, some were to slow to adopt the web and got left behind, some never did and are now history.
The same will happen with remote work. People who love being remote will vote with their feet to new companies, people too scared or too comfy in the office will stay in their cubes. Companies who force RTO will see attrition, companies more flexible will attract top talent. Supply and demand.
“Our vision is to bring employees together for meaningful interactions and purposeful, in-office connections as a cornerstone of how we develop our employees, collaborate as a team, and innovate to serve our members,”
When a business leader says this about task workers it becomes clear how completely full of sh-t they are. No insurance call center worker, or underwriter, or actuary should be "innovating." If your insurance company is "innovating" somebody should probably be in jail.
Here's the deal: Companies set headcount targets based on the record attrition rates from 2021 and 2022. Now people aren't quitting anymore, companies are over budget on comp, and nobody wants to pay severance. These policies are designed to increase "unregrettable attrition". Period.

Honestly given my current experience at CSG, I’m happy to switch my insurance if USAA is acting like POS TK.
You notice that the biggest proponents of RTO are the a##hole CEOs like Krause, Musk, the Wall Street d#cks. It's all part of their "we own you and we don't trust you" credo. Of course, Krause isn't in their league, he's just a pathetic wannabe.
People are not going back to the old ways, ever. As long as there are companies that embrace remote work, the ones that don't are going to be less and less attractive. There is no going back. It's a societal change.
So? That just means USAA s#cks.
