Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Citi, free land of stealing others’s work?

Increase amount of higher titles, even other teams claim my accomplishment as theirs without mentioning my name! I m a team player to help them and this is what I got! No promotion! Lost my projects whenever it is 80% done. Never seen my name or invited to discussion on what I did! Urgent help from me when any issue is my reward!

@OP This thread is similar to the Perceptions thread started by another poster.

He/She should read this thread for ideas and advice, unless he/she is lazy and apathetic and that's a reason why he/she is being treated like a doormat.

@13n True. A leopard doesn't and can Not change its spots.

The toxic managers and bullies are subdued only temporarily. They'll revert back to their true selves in no time.

@OP I can understand your frustration, anger and fear.

You're d@mend if you don't do a good job on your work/projects (could get fired, laidoff, get a bad performance rating, or lower or no bonus), and you're d@mned if you do a good job on your work/projects (MotherFvckers will steal your solutions, projects, work and ideas, claim these as their own and NOT give you credit for it).

Unless you do the below, you will Always be d@mned and caught between a rock and a hard place. One of many things Employers dislike is when employees document in writing anything because it could be used against the employer in a lawsuit or the employer can get into trouble with industry and government regulators. Employers also try to dissuade employees from consulting with employee-side Employment Lawyers.

This works 90%+ of the time: You must document and write narratives of every single occurrence, detail, when, on what dates projects/work was stolen from you (and yes, use strong word like stolen, stealing, no credit was given to you, was stolen from you after 80% of it was completed, etc.) in every detail, dates, times, the whys, hows, whats, manager(s) and co-workers involved or in collusion, etc..

Then, upload the essays/narratives in Workday and email it to your department's HR Business Partner AND your manager's Manager. Even if your manager's Manager and/or typical Citi HR does Not do anything because Citi HR has a bad reputation amongst employees because they're useless and incompetent, at least you have the details in writing and documented in case you need to protect and defend yourself and/or sue Citi.

There's a saying that "Everyone has a Manager." I've personally witnessed tyrant "managers" and bullies get subdued and their comeuppance when their own managers and other co-workers are made aware of their Sh!tShow tactics and backstabbing behaviours. Will your documenting the Stealing and other atrocious behaviours move the needle entirely in your favor ? No. But the needle and scale will tilt and move at least a little bit in your favor and advantage.

I had this happen to me with multiple manager here as well as skip-level people. They steal your ideas and treat you like trash. Well now I don't provide new ideas, look at emails that are not specifically to me, or respond when someone asks for volunteers. They can all bite me.

@OP The same thing happened to me.

@dn Correct. Since cheating others is a survival tactic, NOT divulging ideas and solutions must and should also be a survival tactic.

I practice the latter myself. Be very vague and general in your responses. Use general and broad terms and phrases. Respond along the lines of "I don't know." or "I'm not sure."

Do this for as long as it takes. Stand firm and play the game. Keep playing Dvmb. The MotherFvckers will eventually get tired of wasting his/her time with you. This has been working for me for years.

Remember, if you keep giving out even morsels of ideas/solutions, the Idea-Solution Stealers will keep returning to you like Fvcken Rodents and other vermin. They know where the food is and who's willing to give it.

@tt Citidense. Reading comprehension is important, more so that math skills. It's No wonder Citi is in the Sh!thole it's in because Citi can only attract and retain low quality employees.

The OP said the Solution and Idea Stealers can Not and are Not able to present, articulate, contrive or devise ideas and solutions on their own and even for their own work/projects.

Hence the reason for the Idea-Solution Stealers to fish around and ask direct reports, co-workers and subordinates for their solutions, projects, work, ideas, etc. and then regurgitate the ideas and solutions to upper managements and claim them as their own.

@tt+1jz93ymmf Boo! You're probably a cr@ppy ideal stealer yourself. Only a person without integrity (my boss, co-workers, and you) would try to justify this stuff. Shame on you.

If someone else can represent your ideas comprehensively then your domain is not so special.

The OP must be young and only a few years out of college or university. Based on the OP's posts, comments and rude awakening, the OP is naive and gullible.

Oh C!t! is full of people like this no matter what level. It's like people can no longer come up with ideas themselves or don't want to think on their own anymore. Don't fall for people/managers wanting to talk to you or get your "insights". That just means they are running low on stolen ideas. I don't have an opinion anymore. No bright new ideas. Tell them to ask our internal (cr@ppy) AI next time someone wants to siphon info from you.

@cm+1jz93ymmf, Yes, recognized by the person who steals ideas and gets rewarded. I see here, cheating others is treated as a survival process.

Ridiculous and exaggerated... if you truly delivered value, your work would naturally get recognized.

I completely agree with you, I've experienced the same thing myself. It’s really disheartening. I’ve also been in situations where I lost projects just when they were almost finished. You’re definitely not alone in this.

You learned a lesson. Get over it, move on, and don’t share your work again.
