New Policy Soft Launched

At today’s Town Hall, ML and JM said a new policy will be announced on Friday. They didn’t share full details because they want everyone to find out at once. They mentioned they’re “listening to our feedback about wanting more flexibility and less monitoring” and added something along the lines of “we think you’ll be very happy.”

I’m trying not to get my hopes up, but I really do hope this means real flexibility. I don’t mind putting in extra hours when it’s needed. What’s hard is having no breathing room, even after going above and beyond. I’ve had to give up the routines that help me stay grounded. I feel constant guilt about time lost with family, and I’m working 60 inflexible hours a week with no real balance.

I enjoy my job and care about my team, but getting “exceeds” on every review for years and walking away with a 2 to 3 percent raise each time is exhausting. No matter how much I love the work itself, this level of inflexibility and burnout isn’t sustainable.

Just praying that it will be good for us all.

Those of you who don’t want to believe it don’t. But it’s true. And yes sapience is going unless you’re a remote worker or contractor. Office hours won’t be a thing and remote work allowed for some weeks per year. So believe it when it goes out. Mike is a good guy. Better days are ahead and if you still complain, then quit.

I hope that even if this is introduced that it actually rolls down and all employees actually get to experience these proposed updates

@bq That is what they told people who joined 3 years ago. Then it turned into 5 days, then 8 hours. Now enjoy your +1% raise.

The LEAST they can do is get rid of Sapience / stop using it as a "productivity measure" when it's clearly not, and give back WFH Fridays. Anything less isn't gonna cut it to make anyone happy.

In order to gain the trust of employees, he needs the employees to gain his trust. Only can be done by giving a little

Our SVP indicated wfh Fridays would be coming back along with the elimination of sapience.

@bj yup makes sense. Although like I mentioned before hopefully they start considering a hybrid work schedule if they truly care about flexibility. I doubt it happens but who knows I never would have thought they’d get rid of sapience.

@bg I can confirm that Sapience is on the chopping block. It was mentioned to me on a call that during a high level meeting Lyons wants it gone. It was said that we need to trust employees to do their jobs.

If we can't, the real issue is with the manager, not the employee. He's bringing back accountability and doing away with this ridiculous micromanaging bs, is how I'm interpreting

@bg I heard this too but because they want to cut costs down since sapience for every employee is a lot of money which isn’t an issue for them but good for us I guess. Realistically speaking most people already know how to fool sapience. The main issue everyone is having is the 8 hour badge requirement and working 5 days in the office. Trim this down and sure we actually have some flexibility…until then none of this sapience change does anything. Am I glad they are getting rid of it? Yes. Does it make my life here at this office any different? No.

My director mentioned to me about a week ago that there were talks about getting rid of sapience for everyone except contractors and that managers will be required in office 8 hours instead of 9. Nothing about WFH Fridays.

Why believe them? They’ll do what they’ve shown us they do. They’ll just lie about it when being truthful becomes too much of an issue.

God I hope this is true, any other details to share from the TH?

Are they recorded and posted to Fuel?

Let's keep in mind that this was comments from fiserv management who have always put their spin on "what we hear from employees" when they actually do the opposite. Don't hold your breath waiting to find out how backwards any statement will improve anything.

Do you think horrible horrible people like Gibbons and others in management committee can change their colors in 30 days?!? Not. They’re rotten to the bone! Mike can say what he wants… the fools have to execute and no one wants to work with them!
