Nobody bothers "bopping" customers anymore for fear they may actually own a business. Who wants to process an order through B360? Nobody. And what is my incentive to put it in the business name? Nothing.

My favorite part of this thread is the random SMB rep whining about being underappreciated when they do absolutely nothing for individual reps. The person literally thinks other people are supposed to go make them a giant paycheck when they can't influence the reps checks at and at no point in time are they working by themselves for the rep.
There are no added incentives for me to go the hard way and create an smb account vs personal. Why would I or anyone want to make excuses and work through BICs, bad systems, crazy portion listing, and error after error. Hey I will give you $25 dollars to stick a fork in your eye. No thank you keep your money. I don't need the stress, time consumption and embarrassment of smb lines. Smb was a bit difficult before now it's just impossible. Take a flying leap leadership! Stick your smb where the sun don't shine.
I straight out told my GM I have no incentive to do SMB for 1er 2er. I'm not going to di-k around with biz360 and waste my time. I have other things I can be doing. The GM said our director is bi-----g our SMB numbers are way down. I rolled my eyes and said gee I wonder why. We spent a year driving our biz customers out of the store, roll out the worst point-of-sale I have EVER seen, and now it takes an hour to perform basic tasks on a biz account that simply aren't worth my time.
There is no point to do business when the promotions are worse. Had someone that wanted to bring his own device but couldn’t get the $350 credit. App is horrible and it’s to confusing. I’m not going to do things that make my life harder.

It's so strange the bo--r that DMs and Directors have for SMB lately.
it’s not the smb reps. it’s their managers. the ones that never come by the stores and have no idea how to answer their phone if their employee is off or an escalation occurs. the ones that never leave home and constantly say, sorry i was in a meeting. yeah ok
you do realize your individual smb rep, the onethat sits there and takes all your calls no matter if they’re working or home w family off the clock, and dedicates the majority of their week to sit in your store, and process your shi** alone should be enough motivation to not be so useless. i get that rep doesn’t pay you, but having someone work so hard to help you would seem to be some type of motivation. or i guess it just doesn’t matter to you all?
I was going to come back from lunch early today to get a little extra hourly, but when I saw a business customer was next. I changed my mind and sat down until they were taken. Then I came back from lunch.
I would love to know what DM thought it would be a good idea to intervene a sale and talk a customer into doing a business account. Such a classic example of how clueless our leadership really is. Like they didn't know how awful of an experience that was going to be? Well sure glad they found out from personal experience. I can only pray that the DM actually voiced the problem to his boss. I have zero faith that anything will change regardless but wish leadership would wake up and smell the sh--e we have to deal with on a daily.
Every business manager is a tool. I'm not talking about the smb retail rep... I'm talking about their mgr and their boss. I'm not working harder for those people when they look down their noses at me. I'm working (not working smb) to get them fired. Sorry not sorry. Smb managers are the laziest pieces in the puzzle.
My DM came by due to our SMB % being around 8% and my personal SMB was around 1%. He came in grilling me about that. He waited a few hours just observing transactions. I got a new customer and when I began running the personal credit, he came over and bopped the customer. Customer had a business and he explained all the "benefits" and convinced the customer to go business. I asked him to please help me process the business account. (I know how to do this) He kept getting random errors and had the GM come over and eventually the SM. All 3 tried to process thus business account. After about an hour of failure and the customer pi---d off and ready to leave, the DM said just put it in personal and waive the act fees for inconvenience, to not lose the sale. After the customer left, I went to the DM and said now you know why I am at 1% SMB sales.
union trolls took their red pills and went to sleep.
I have a working theory that they are so hard on business because they are going to shutter corp retail and keep select business hubs as an idea.
SMB take for ever ✔️
Systems are terrible ✔️
Doesn't pay any different ✔️
Sales don't matter anyways ✔️
SMB customer support out sourced to the Philippines ✔️
Terrible app ✔️
Terrible online experience ✔️
Infinitely harder to do anything for reps and customer ✔️
Business! yeah.
Do enlighten me what part you disagree with.
Not a lot of truth in your post. You’re very sorely mistaken on nearly all counts…
I love doing business and even for a small prop it is worth the effort. I wish that the company cared what the most highly skilled among us have to say. I have gotten great tips and can close business in a snap. I often do. I would do more so with extra incentive.
My voice matters.
RIP SMB reps reading this thread.
Love that this board is lighting up about the same stuff we been talking about in store and private for what feels like over a year now. #oneteam
Why would I push smb when it has zero incentive for me besides a headache, large amounts of time and frustration and just pads the pay check of the SMB rep. Why do our ecode sells help them but their ecode sells do nothing to help us. It doesn't help that they are on the old commission so could careless if the whole process is a nightmare for the customers. They getting paid and padding their checks.
Also the lack of integrity pushing a consumer customer towards business just cause they happen to have a sole prop selling pottery is terrible. Business accounts and all the limitations for a normal small account is a terrible experience for the customer. It's infinitely harder to do anything on a business account, on verizon and the customers end.
Also doesn't help that 100% of business support is out sourced to the Philippines
