Fate of NSBU?

Any guesses what will be the future of NSBU - VMC app?
Will there by massive job cuts like other BU's?

What about the FUBU?

The question is whether NSBU products require a different sales motion to core. I would guess that +95% of NSBU revenue is vSphere related and sold via the same motion to the same groups within customers. If you are selling to the same group and aligned to the same set of products, then the question is whether BC would want to maintain NSBU as a separate BU or merge it into core.

The BC model is for BUs to be way more isolated, with very little dependency between them. So would there be value in running all of NSBU like this, or would it be more efficient to merge into the core BU?

“They practically eliminated most of Technical Support, HR, Finance, Care, Education, Sales, partner services, etc." says a former Symantec employee's comment on their Layoff page”

Just look at the numbers of what they laid off at symantec. Only a few hundred jobs which was 7% of their workforce. Not a lot at all we do this # routinely every January

NSBU could be in a weird spot.

NASBG was a bad idea with poor leadership, and it created some issues that need to be sorted. NSBU is tied to other work and BUs. One if Carbon Black XDR. If CB is spun off, then that could mean NSBU is split up with half going to CB? Or spun off into another entity bought by the same PE. So many things. But it won't be the same as other VMW BUs.

More speculation than normal in this sit.

Yes broadcom does have specialists sales and presales. I am not sure of what their comp structure looks like. I heard that specialist sales report into the BUs and not the core sales function. They tend to run everything by geo. They are pretty light on when it comes to specialists usually one specialist per 5 strategic reps. Currently in broadcom software group they have integration specialists (CA) and security specialists (Symantec).

It’s quite simple. No team is immune end of. They will trim across the board. Standard practice after acquisition. Some trimmed more than others but nothing will be immune to the 1st and subsequent rounds.

"like other BUs" - none of the product groups have confirmed what will be happening yet, any answer here is a guess.
