Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

BPX Dev Town Hall

Does anyone else feel like the constant movie references, inside jokes, non-professional, goofy approach that S.H. brings to the company is ridiculous?

No wonder people are leaving. S.H., when you're the only one laughing at your own d-mb comments or you have your few underling girl clique grinning with you, it's not for the 185 other people who are generally trying to get s**t done for this company. Grow up, man.

@213 what role do you play at bpx? No really, I'm genuinely curious.

You're right with everything you said. We should all find happiness in what we do. I think that's why I truly came to bpx, or at least that is what I was sold at the time of my interview. Bpx has potential, big time potential. But not with ja----s leaders acting straight like they walked in from Frat Row. Not with inexperienced middle management. And certainly not from any DEI folks.

So, why I'm staying?...$$$ and benefits. Why am I not leaving?...E&Ps have still but exited Denver. The last major, Chevron, is even closing their doors this year when the DJ is one of their biggest cash cows!!! What used to be an industry rich city has now consolidated to Houston thanks to the last 10 years of unfavorable politics in Colorado. Denver is a non-investment O&G state. We're lucky to have this office here, period.

I’m genuinely curious—if someone’s feeling unhappy here, what’s the motivation to stay? My experience at bpx has been largely positive, and I’d hope folks find roles or environments that better align with what they’re looking for. It seems like we all benefit most when we’re surrounded by people who enjoy what they do.

I've worked here a long time. Promotions are not about merit here. Its about cliques and connections. This guy is a joke. He kept saying we are country and rock n roll during his time on stage at Super DUG. I have a couple of friends who attended the Conference that called me afterwards to ask who the heck he is. He did not represent us well.

He was friends with the former CEO DL. Working for SH is re--rded. This guy did not deserve his position and only got where he was due to his friends and connections much like others that work here.

The one encouraging thing I will say is several of the bad actors have left for Continental or Flywheel recently. We have a few more to purge.

We need real leadership that takes it serious moving forward. We cannot afford much more bad press. The industry doesn't respect us. We are a joke.

@bs Fml..that was a hilarious response! That 5 minute t-t-for-tat over whether people were leaving for intrinsic or extrinsic motivational reasons..so cringe! Never mind the other 180-some people

Maybe I was just butt hurt that I didn't get a frat-bro shout out at the beginning of the meeting? Ha!

Sounds like someone doesn’t have enough intrinsic motivation.
