Pro tip: Update Your Linked In Profile

A small change will do (add a dot or shuffle a paragraph). This pushes you up the candidate list as the system knows that you are likely starting to position yourself for a job search. Also, recruiters are pinging people regularly, but their sort is based on the last update - hence, even a small change will push you closer to the top of a candidate list.

If you continually update and improve your LI profile, and post/write/participate ALL THE TIME, you will not only have a fantastic profile that will lead recruiters to YOU, your boss will never suspect a thing when they see activity on your account. #freeadvice

Agree with this. Update it a couple of days. Change a few things. Add intriguing posts to your timeline. Ask for endorsements and especially recommendations. Try to add as many people as you can that you have worked with in the past. Your network will be one of the best assets you have.

My number was drawn in June - it was painless and liberating. I was going to take a 2 months break but got contacted by a small consulting company with a great offer - I liked what they had in mind and I was back to work in less than 5 weeks.

The market for tech is really good - really, really good - it'll be different but the market is good!
