Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

VZ Stock at $44 … Really?!?!!

Was curious and looked up VZ Stock today and was floored to see it back at $44 after the incessant layoffs and cost cutting. All the sell off in corporate real Estate and discontinued leases, all the head chopping, cutting benefits and stock sharing, ripping out Legacy equipment because of power consumption, shutting off the Lights and the empty promises of AI “efficiencies”— and the Stock is barely holding at 44 Bucks. What the actual F#%K is going on Dan, maybe our CEO should be replaced by AI for some actual efficiency and cost savings.

Verizon has no revenue growth plan…or should I say Dan doesn’t have any revenue growth plan. He cut workforce and reduce expense all he wants but the business does not have a revenue generator hence the declining stock price. You can only fake it til
you make it for so long and Dan has finally reached the end of his faking it.

@bn Well, you could always write novels if you're laid off. Your current style shows real promise. 🤡

Unless Verizon starts making AI software or AI chips or starts building AI data centers or power plants, or rocket ships, it will be flat line. Telecom in this stock market is not se-y, no growth.

@a4 and so far no expectations for improved earnings apparently

The stock tracks the dividend relative to it's rate of return vs. other products like bond, T-bills, etc. There is no reasonable expectation that Verizon's dividend is going to substantially rise so therefore no rise in the stock price.

We are playing to win! And as an AI first company, that will surely take place. AI is the how. EI is the why. I can’t what to see the future we Vteamers build - together!
