Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Dell Dublin office

Looking for a job and dell is a big company here. Has the Dublin office been impacted with a lot of layoffs or are there layoffs expected? Genuinely would like to work there. Ta

I need to correct a few things,

  1. Not everyone is looking for WFR, a great number of people are not looking and we enjoy the jobs we do.
  2. Dell rewards hard work and Loyalty - you can build a career here, but don't expect to be moving up grades/roles every year or even every 2 years. It just does not work that way.
  3. The office is what YOU make of it. If you come in with a positive attitude ready to learn and grow then you will grow. Do not come in thinking you are entitled to things because you have x degree or because you think you know "so much"
  4. It is NOT and easy life or "Soft Paycheck" you will be rated on your performance, anyone who thinks otherwise either never spent enough time here or had a closed mindset to start with.
  5. Ambition is not all it takes to succeed you can have ambition without focus and the. You are a loose canon. You need to focus your ambition and achieve your target, and when you do and don't immediately get promoted don't be discouraged, continue to deliver and you will get promotions and rewards.

Finally coming to a Layoff site to ask people what they think of that place is probably not the best place to start, majority of people here will only ever give negative views (no matter the company)

I used to work for Dell but jumped a few years ago now as I couldn’t take the absolute toxicity in the place. Honestly, every single person in Dell today has been worn down to the point where everyone, and I mean everyone, is just waiting for wfr. There’s too many staff anyway and most if not all teams are bloated.

I would say 99% of staff just do the bare minimum in terms of work with zero ambition. For that reason, I felt I couldn’t take it there anymore and I wouldn’t allow dell to waste my skills anymore

If you’re a young person with ambition and looking to further your career, I would say stay well away from Dell.

If you want an easy life, soft paycheck and little stress and are happy that your career doesn’t progress then, yes go for Dell. Nothing wrong with this option either, I’m just being blunt about it.

I work in the Dublin office and yes like all places there has been impact. Not sure what area of the business you are looking at, we cover everything from Sales, Tech, training, IT and the Dell Bank. We have good facilities and the office is very welcoming. We have a canteen serving breakfast and Lunch with good choices. I would recommend the Dell office.

There are better jobs than Dell IRL, e.g. Apple in Cork, Google, Facebook or a freaking Asda
