Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Leaking

MJ mentioned that 18A yields cannot be shared with the rest of the company because someone thinks the rest of the world deserves to know even at the level of rumor.

I’m with Mj. Loose lips sink chips

Lying is the entire business model of the Government of China, and they used it to lie, cheat, and steal their way into relevance while impoverishing middle America.

The ONLY way to reign in executive greed is to make them too afraid for their physical security to make that much more than their employees.

Guys. Calm down and pretend everything is on track and working fine. Don't spill out the beans.

If the yield is outstanding, do they need to keep tight tips?

Completely disagree. Lying is what started it off and got us to where we are today. We lied and lied and lied again. There is a difference between not saying but openly boasting about false metrics habitually?! I think we should just be honest and open. Not fully transparent but just manage expectations etc

In spite of all the turmoil Intel crushed 5 nodes in 4years. Kudos to Ann K and her TD team. Way to keep calm and carry on.

On the die yield calculator from SemiAnalysis and how to use it:

Change the die width and height from 1.5 mm x 1.5 mm, to a more realistic set, say 12 mm x 12 mm, while leaving the defect density unchanged at 0.4 #/mm^2. Recalculate the percentage of good dies. You are welcome.

Why people want to know is because Intel has been full of cr-p and they would like to know if 18a is another line item in the full of cr-p saga. The more you hid the less people will trust you. Its not that hard follow along please.

You wouldn't want your competitors or even customers to know what your profit margin is. What matters is if it's good enough for Intel Products and external partners. Yield could be 100% but if no one wants to use it, it doesn't matter. I don't see why people who are not part of IFS need to know.

I heard it was insider trading to say how 18a is doing. Weird answer

If the yields were good they wouldn't be trying so hard to hide them.

The kid with straight A's isn't trying to hide their report card from their parents.

Cant you see how many posts a week are on this site just to get an idea of yields?

Many people want intel to sink and even more number of people want it to soar. I am with MJ. Everyone in TD already know and good for nothing engineers in prodco should worry about their own work.
