Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Would someone who hasn’t even been with QCOM for a year be at risk of getting laid off?

Its a manager and director thing. Qcom doesnt side with anyone. I have had HR intervention because of aweful managers and they are still there, not 1 but 3 managers. I am still here and they are still there. Lets see tomorrow who they side with.

the new hires are especially at risk because :

  1. you are too new to matter and have any impact on the team
  2. you havent had the time to shine any rears of upper management , so they wont fight for you anyways

Goog luck !!

FYI , i was laid off from meta 2 months after being hired , left QC for Meta

Really depends on the management. Our management likes to get rid of new guys over old guys.

Unless your team is completely getting canned or your manager or director is playing favorites, you should be fine.

Assuming you are competent, if you get laid off tomorrow and your team is not, then it is your manager or director sacrificing you to keep one of their friends.
