@f3+1k078b35g who cares? Dell has been jeans casual at all levels for 25+ years.

Not to belabor the "what they wore" topic too much, but could JS at least have worn business casual (not jeans) on a global broadcast of this magnitude? and the listener lady is clearly not listening.

@e8 manager nps, "would you recommend working for your manager " is in the 70s

Company nps, "would you recommend working for Dell" is in the 30s

Not the same metric.

Funny how the nps score was in the 30s a few weeks ago when our manager was giving us the rundown and when upper management has to address the company as a whole the score suddenly jumps into the 70s....

Think of it like a war. Tell Dell could be considered battle damage reports. Just because it's bad doesn't mean that they'll stop the campaign.

The problem is, we don't know what victory looks like and therefore we get layoffs all year round and everyone is on edge.

Considering how much she's paid, she could invest some bucks to pay herself some acting classes.
Delivery was awful, even an amateur actor would have proved more convincing.

They need the Tell Dell data for many reasons that don’t include our feelings or morale. They have no intention of changing anything as a result of the data. This puts them in a conundrum because they have to say something when the results come in but they can’t make good press out of bad press. That’s how you get dystopian videos like the one today, written by committee, without authenticity, with no accountability and no commitment to actually do anything. Without an actual message, they resort to theater.

The disrespect for the workers, just say it was not a good tell dell, show some empathy for the changes, explain why the changes are being made... because it's all changes/layoffs and no idea where the company is heading. But no, pretending they are doing great overall and deflecting.

@a2 it's fu--ing terrible. How insincere and where did this "Employee Listener" suddenly pop up from. My god I bet she's depressed!

They are better off not doing ‘Tell Dell’ if they are going to lie about the results.

My orgs Tell Dell results presentation isn't for another week but, as per usual, I'm sure he will just blow past most of the negatives and then talk about what he wants to talk about.. We already had our team Tell Dell result meeting and there is NO FKNG WAY the NPS score is as high as it was... NO WAY.

No travel, no conferences, very very limited promotions, sub-par raises, RTO 5 days/week - for those living close enough to an office, most are just badging and going straight back home anyways... no promotions for any remote employees, etc etc etc... There just is no way it was anywhere close to what they claim that score to be.

At this point, all Dell cares about is AI this, AI that. Ok cool bro... Pretty sure everyone is sick of hearing about it and, pretty sure nobody actually cares anyways lol. They have been regularly sla-ghtering ISG and sales groups for the last like 5 years at this point, partially due to AI... Layoffs have been damn near year round since Covid which keeps everybody on edge, Senior leadership just tells us what the legal department tells them they CAN say all while beating around the bush on answers most of us actually care about.

idk, Tell Dell is a joke and these results prove it. The NPS score could be -50 and they'd present it as a +50 from last year... If the NPS score isn't good, then they will make it "good" because no way will they ever tell us the REAL score.

If anything how they have addressed this Tell Dell makes the terrible results justified.

It's like they give a rat's butt about the results. These fat cats all have PAs, drivers and maids to handle their kids, dogs, etc. That's why they don't give a sh@t abt RTO. But level of hypocrisy is anyhow astonishing as they're are saying that "nothing is faster than human interactiom" ,and at the same time promote AI and solutions for remote work to other companies.

This video was not as advertised. They talked about Tell Dell for, what, two minutes? Then they went off on work life balance cr-p.

On the plus side - they both dressed like grownups. Neither one was wearing a goofy tshirt that they think makes them look ironic and cool.

I spent more time filling out TellDell than they did discussing it and their work balance tangent.
They would have been better off to have their AI avatars discussed Tell Dell

Everything so scripted and inauthentic. Dell does not yet realize the gravity of just how terrible these practices are. I foresee a mass exodus of talent and there will go many customers. And honestly, it'll be exactly what these corporate losers deserve for thinking they made the right decisions.

I took nearly every AI class, seminar we offer. I also took outside university classes.

I have applied for no less than seven AI related positions and received two screening interviews and one interview with the hiring managers underlings… You don’t suppose the grey hair had anything to do with “Not being quite the right fit” do you?

It sounds like two teenagers trying to convince their parents that the D- and F grades are actually good. And other people did worse. So can we go get ice cream now/

My parents wouldn’t have accepted such BS and neither should we.

(Let’s talk work/life balance when you don’t know if you will have a job or health insurance next month.)
