WYW - end of death by meetings?

Tier after tier leading to more and more tears. US folks needing to be online at 7am to talk to Europe. Europe folks online at 8am to talk to Asia and into the night for the US. Asia folks online most nights of the week to talk to anyone.
Well, we’re all going to be commuting now at the times when we have those meetings. Some countries like the UK have a strict “no phones in the car” policy.
I run a global team. Stupid span of control policies mean my entire team (11 people) need to report directly to me. None are in the same time zone as me. I have just lost my 8am-9am slots, plus my evening meeting goodwill, and my US friends have lost their 6am-8ams.
Maybe the blessing of all of this will be the end to all the utterly pointless Tier meetings that just repeat the same sh-t over and over again while talent-vacuum managers proudly crow over their increasingly cr-ppy spreadsheets? No-one’s going to have time for that nonsense any more vs “collaboration” time and working with their increasingly remote teams.

You are salaried. You will be in the office during typical office hours AND you will be available for early morning and evening/night online meetings outside of those office hours. Same as it always was.

@OP maybe use your common sense ? I did these kind of global / area jobs when I worked at 3M before I got spun and I worked my office days around early starts and late finishes , you sound quite senior so I'm not sure why this is so hard to comprehend, use a bit of initiative ?
