Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

To every manager and leader reading this

You’re either part of the solution supporting people over power, or you’ve become a gatekeeper for a system that’s slowly ki-ling them.

Some of you know it’s wrong. You see the fear, the burnout, the quiet quitting. But instead of standing up, you stay silent.
Instead of pushing back, you enforce the rules. Not because you believe in them, but because you’re afraid of losing your place in the chain.

That chain is the illusion. That hierarchy you’re protecting? It’s not leadership. It’s self preservation dressed as order. And while you hold onto titles, people are losing their peace. Their families. Their health. Their purpose.

You weren’t created to enable control. You weren’t meant to lead by fear. You were made for something greater, something free, something human, something real.

So choose. Stand with the people. Or be exposed as part of what’s keeping them in chains. But know this: silence is agreement. And obedience to toxic power is not loyalty, it’s bondage.

You don’t have to keep playing this role.
You can walk away with your soul intact.

They should already be documented, its an ISO requirement.

@bj ye ISO.. I still try to understand how such big place can work is such unstructured and chaotic ways where director decide what fits his ppt every time.

First thing I've asked was show me processes and my manager was like "eee? i don't think we have them"

Then when you try to "do the right thing"

oh its not the process

simply because I've expected from others to test before the merge..

Normal business circumstances: Leadership is completely focused on growing the business, increasing revenue, margin, market share. Under those circumstances, a manager’s job is to align team members to the strategy and their specific piece of the strategy, whether it’s large or small.

But Dell leadership no longer seems to be trying to grow in any normal way. The strategy seems to be some sort of magical “grow by shrinking”. So…how are middle management supposed to protect workers in this environment? They are as vulnerable as anyone, if not more. The leaders of the sinking life raft.

"My mgr got very picky on me and asked to map all processes I designed and manage. Is it a sign that I gonna be sacrificed soon?"

They should already be documented, its an ISO requirement. Stuff like this drives me crazy, stop trying to save your job by not doing it.

Most managers are at an age where they have families. Their number one job is to provide for said family. Sometimes "doing the right thing" means gritting your teeth, su-king it up, and doing whatever it takes to continue in your role as provider. Doesn't mean you should endure this forever, but personal circumstances often dictate professional choices.
