Our group were officially notified about our layoff first on this site, …. then a few days later we were on a call with HR.

It’s usually a one on one invite within 24 hours of notice from your manager then when you attend the notice HR is present

If youre a Sr Advisor/ Director above - its usually your direct manager, their boss and a SVP from HR.
