Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

LBT can't turn Intel around

Has anyone here read "Who Says Elephants Can't Dance" ? Fascinating book. I'm somewhat paraphrasing, but

  • fix the balance sheet
  • stop all forms of bleeding
  • get people inside and outside the company to believe in the turnaround (and hey Pat was actually ok at that....)

and step back and viola! the employees do the rest.

So you can take the headline as a "come on" if you like. LBT won't turn Intel around; you and I will.

But if you are the guy who reminds everyone LBT is preparing Intel for the chopping block ... you are welcome in this post too with the not-so-come-on-ey interpretation of the headline.....

Yup. One of the biggest and most embarrassing parts of all of this is that we saw it happen a decade ago to others and we didn’t learn from their mistakes and warnings. Our so called experts should have seen it all coming just simply by watching what happened to others in our industry 10 years ago. It’s shameful they didn’t know or learn anything from those very similar events

I don't believe OP knows how to turn around.

"Get people inside and outside the company to believe in the turnaround".
THIS is why a turn around will NEVER happen.
30 years of talking sh-t about the competition, lying to employees, customers and investors and an unrecoverable reputation in the industry.

LBT is a takedown artist. Come in, rattle the tree, get the workers to bail, sell the parts. Rinse and repeat.

Highly achievable goals and achieve them. Spot on. The Gertsner remembrance was about discovering what IBM did well and doing that. So what does Intel do well today? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Ask Dow jones people. They must know something that we don’t. Why did they kick INTC out if it has any value or good for them? Any legit company must have a CEO to put on the chart and to operate. “ Turn around” is the hopeless term from Wall Street and financial analysts for its troubling financial problems. Technically it was done 5 years ago with 10nm process node manufacturing problems. Do you believe it won’t have any problem with < 2 nm process node manufacturing which is about 5X more complex than before? If so, you can see they spin around in the air yelling we are the best world class process node not “turn around” or massive layoff.

All that is left in this shithole are buttkissers, soon to be retirees and clueless RCGs. People with marketable shores have deserted this place like North Dakota in December.

Only time will tell but it is unlikely that LBT or the employees can turn Intel around. Intel's recovery is always projected on a sliding timeline to be 2-5 years out from the current date. This has gone on since early 2021 and no one believes it any more. Too much talent and experience has been either chased out or released through years of layoffs and poor management. Intel needs to take its eyes off of the goal of being an industry leader and just focus on surviving. Have achievable goals and actually meet or exceed them. Do this over and over.

He is not planning too. Maybe some lip service to keep the ants in line- but just look at his deal. He is incentivized to break us up and sell the parts
