Debating to quit your Amazon job is a waste of time. If you are that d-mb and can’t see the writing on the wall. On January 2, 2025, if you do not return to the office that day you will be fired and receive no unemployment benefits. You can talk all you want blah blah about Microsoft going to hire you. But being out of a job due to being fired by Amazon for not obeying company rules don’t make you look so good in the eyes of Microsoft hiring managers.

Look at all the Microsoft jobs! There are many other places offering remote work. Go to remotejobs.io and find one yourself. I don't need a remote job because I already have one, but others are welcome to apply. Perhaps you sat on your hands and didn't bother checking or couldn't do a basic screening interview at Microsoft, so you're whining.

It's an Employees market - just quit! This is just a phase. Smart folks leave, less smart folks are left behind. It's that simple! Recruiters will have a hard time selling Amazon to candidates.

If what you say about lots of remote jobs at Microsoft were true, you would have tired long ago to get hired there. Perhaps you did apply and Microsoft told you they were not interested in you.

If your to d-mb to figure it out that the tables have turned and it’s a Employers market now your going to face a tough time if you do indeed work at Amazon and quit over not wiling to return to office starting January 2, 2025.

It's not as hard to land a remote job as you're making it out to be. Microsoft has tons of remote jobs.

Or, if you're really brave... you can sue Amazon for discrimination and constructive dismissal since it is favoring those employees that are in proximity to their offices over those that are not, while allowing certain employees without disabilities or medical conditions to continue working remotely regardless of their location. And sue for lost wages based on the false pretenses of being able to work remotely. And sue for severance and EI.

Look at the rules to draw unemployment yourself. Pay no attention to company paid ramblers and petition your coworkers to become Union. Noodle legs and spines get boiled away . Take a stand if you believe you are worth it. If not then boil away....

I saw the writing on the wall. I interviewed and I joined another Big Tech in the area last year.

It has been tough to get jobs. I hear from a couple of former AWS tech PM that they paused their search.

I imagine Amazon will be strict and those not complying with RTO can be terminated without benefits. Unlikely it will be a PIP.
