Genuinely wish best of luck to those who will have to find desks/parking/meeting rooms every morning from now on. Gonna really maximize productivity to have people tripping over each other in the hallways and hearing a dozen separate meetings going on in the same open office area.

Does Farley still use the private jet to fly to his home in England?
They are Streaming in like school kids!! Welcome back!!
"I spent 5 billion on buildings, no other CEO has ever done that..."
Uh, yeah. Not sure why he said that. Like, did he not see the irony in that statement?
No CEO has done it before because its a monumental (pun intended) waste of money for a company with so many issues. Ok, admittedly, the campus was/is long in the tooth but no reason to buy useless property in Detroit and then build the biggest eyesore Dearborn has ever seen. Oakwood and the style of everything else around it is now ruined.
I always think of the 'basket building' in Ohio (how utterly stupid it is) when I look at the train station.
@bg rules for thee not for me
The best part about it is.. they would rather spend their effort, time and money forcing people back into the office instead of building a robust cloud platform to easily spin up applications. Oh but China has figured out how to do face unlock!?!!?
If you need your IT team in office then you will never get the best IT team. Just absolute incompetence at all levels. You WANT people to be able to do everything remotely.
The immediate 3 day per week is probably to align with PD engineering that has been at least 3 days a week for the last year and a half. Some IT “higher up” probably didn’t tell their boss (even higher up) that they were only requiring their org to be in office one day per week, and when that was exposed recently …well…you get what you get….
@OP Actual conversation today in my workplace. The names and places have been changed to protect the innocent.
Two random people approached the area I was working from. One speaks up.
“Is Matt here?”
“Who?”
“Matt.” gesturing to the workspace next to me. “Have you seen him?”
“Is that his name?” I replied. “Yeah, I saw him today. Sorry, my team sits all over the place so obviously I don’t collaborate with ‘Matt’ “.
I left shortly thereafter for five minutes and returned to find four people huddled around the “bump out” between the two workspaces with two laptops going and participating in a loud discussion. Promptly put my Air buds in, selected “ white noise black screen” on Youtube on my phone and continued with my day.
If this is hoteling, I just checked into a Motel 6. Except with worse bathrooms.
Connected Vehicle, the LL4, wont come in, lives in Ann Arbor. a huge amount of the department has never been to Michigan.
rules are different for different men.

Just get your 3 badge swipes per week retroactively when HR send you the nasty gram email last month. That was the beginning of mandatory 3 swipes. Sept 1st is 4 badge swipes per week or face the consequences up to and including dismissal and termination from the company.
If you arent LL+ level, you do not need to collaborate in person, that is required for working level pawns like you. Thats the way it is, whether your morale is good or not....no matter. That badge of yours better be worn out by the end of the year, and that is on your objectives.
Oh, and this goes for all of you.
The fat will not get trimmed. The lean hard workers will have one more option to leave. One of the key workers on our Team is out of state. The boss is worried about him leaving.
A couple of weeks back they said starting September. What changed to make them say "Starting Immediately"
Most of the ET Leadership is remote. Bad for morale that management work remote but not the workers.
@OP
And some of the leadership, who was in panel are remote, and would not be office. The irony of asking all to be back at work 3-4 days in name of collaboration and productivity.
For context, ET has been 1 day per week until this point.
Hey, school starts in September, let make the slaves come in 4 days a week. MUHAHAHAH
It's an exercise to see what fat they should trim.
No assigned desks and no assigned building.. any ford building will do...
The building wr have assigned is just for one day a week as other teams use it on different days. Parking is not good either
But dont worry they have space for 80 percent of us just the rest will have to sit at cafeteria tables , couches etc
@a3 ET has the same requirement on 9/1. Just weird to push an additional day a week for three weeks when people likely have their childcare/carpool planned for the month.
ET just now 3 days? Most have been doing 3 required already with 4 requirement on 9/1.
