Why not share message on who will stay and who will leave?

So people can either focus on work, or focus on finding another job, rather than one month in a mess?

It's in 4th because it is not the US. The US allows offer letters to be sent out early. UK TUPE doesn't allow that. That TUPE exists, and Broadcom has to made adjustments to adhere to it, makes UK part of 4th.

In 4th category situations, IIRC VMware can exist longer on its own until their notifications periods are done. The VMware completely does away.

And yes it su-ks not to have severance polices listed for each of the 60 countries, it's not that difficult. Most multi-national countries have this available, why didn't we?

I bet there won’t be any official communication to the process of any country outside the US.

Does it get tiring to always assume the worst-case scenario? They've already started. But, as they stated, there are 60 countries represented in VMware. VMware and Broadcom have to sync for each and every country. There _MUST_ be official communication. It would be against local laws to not have that. So I don't know why you assume VMware and Broadcom would just violate local laws for fun.

RE: UK, that was covered as the fourth category of employees. Those who won't know their status until after the deal closes.

Speculation could be the timer starts ticking after 30 Oct.

What happens with consultation periods e.g. in the UK for 99 or more employees being made redundant the consultation period is 45 days ....does that mean that kicks in from date of notification? It would be good to know this so people can plan ahead with new roles etc

This has been explained already here and in the All Hands. The All Hands was recorded, so maybe you should go watch it.

There is a process and a timeline. We are not yet at the point in the timeline to receive those. Those decisions are still being made until mid Oct.

Because that work is literally being done now. There’s a lot to be sorted through in a relatively short amount of time. It su-ks, but all we can do is wait and see.
