Does BK not have an IT background?

Is it true that BK does not have an IT background? Lmao is that supposed to be a joke? In what universe does it make sense to be appointed head of EMIT but never have had any IT experience. How does one square that?

Don’t you realize that not only are these high flyers stellar leaders, they also have the MIDAS touch. They can touch a dog tu-d and turn it into gold!

Oh - hold on. It’s the other way round, isn’t it?

This is sad and far too common, we have multiple maintenance managers with zero maintenance experience. Yeah makes sense right…..

Same type of observation: in which universe does it make sense to appoint engineers as HR Managers? Where is the overlap in required skills?

Unfortunately this is not an isolated case for this company. We have managers that have little or no relevant experience in charge of their departments and so people end up training their bosses and most of the time the managers move on and the process starts all over again. What a waste of time.

Nope! None! Zilch! He is the biggest #hotshot who has landed top seat in EMIT without any tech skills.

BK got no IT skills. Even HCL, TCS, Wipro, wouldn't hire him for base level jobs but yet at Exxon he is a VP leading IT and using his privileges to call other skilled people hotshot!

This is a perfect and real, relatable example that only HiPos and sponsored ones like BK can survive and milk the company even without having any tangible skills. The skilled ones without HiPo designation or sponsors are frequently kicked out or made miserable and forced to quit.

No EMIT VP since the inception of EMIT in 2006 has had an IT background. H was controllers. P was Upstream. B was Refining (?) not sure. K was Downstream.
