It’s hard to understand how the ELT still holds their positions, given the colossal failure they've proven to be. If I performed this poorly, I’d be out the door in no time. But not them. They keep collecting hefty salaries and bonuses, completely oblivious to the lack of direction they’re providing. It's mindboggling.

This is easy, the poster still has a job despite clearly being dead weight. You know the answer, ask yourself how do you still have a job because clearly you’re here whining about why someone else still has a job. How do we know your just wasted air space? Your posting on this site.
ELT, but it goes down to the AVP , ED and LD level. Gone are the days where contributions mattered. Someone can take 3 hour lunches mark it on their calendar, abuse team members and keep a job. Someone can fake skill sets, take credit for others work, lie, and still keep a job. There are people in leadership roles who are only looking out for themselves. Their teams do not even know what to do because there is no direction. Those same team members then get yelled at for not knowing what to do. It's insane.
