Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

AI Use and Citi.

Anyone want to tell us about how Citi is handling AI use in various departments? I've heard that some departments aren't touching it, while others have gone full send and are exposing everything from policies to chats. Which one are you guys using too, chatgpt or another?

The AI here is subpar and not competitive with other companies. Basically it's a joke but they are spending tons of money so making it sound so amazing. Oh look how many people are using our AI internally they say. They tell you it can do one thing it either does it poorly or not what they claim. This is so you try train the thing asking it 5 different ways to do something it tells you it cannot do. Then they take that data to advance the AI. So the more you feed it the more you are giving it your job. One platform can't even read images, make PPT slides, or analyze multiple excel tabs. Lol.

You're supposed to be using the internal AI which they send emails about all the time, not chatgpt or external.

@fx+1kbvnwkbv this is obviously associated to layoffs they will lay us all off the day that AI can do 50% of our job, they don't care about quality, I agree with this post, would like to know what other depts are doing.

My department is using it to reduce the amount of time it takes to process data and come up with the holes in our compliance shield. What used to take me a couple day to manually uncover now take about 5 minutes to generate the list of action items. It makes me more efficient so I can spend more time on human interactions.

AI is not what people think... There is a lot, if you do your research, were this will back fire drastically across all companies who are adapting AI. Only 5% of all companies have actually made money with AI. Some have even had to hire back people they let go because they released it wasn't efficient.

The graphs show people aren't as hyped about Ai except Tech sectors because, well for obvious reasons are making all the money. But they are all 100s Billions in debt right now and will likely see this early 2026. You can just Google all this to find out.

This is a board about Citi layoffs, not how Citi uses tech. This is not a proof of concept board.

I'm OP, I don't work for citi at all. I'm against all this AI cr-p. I genuinely want to know what Citi is doing, in comparison to where I work.

Honestly…..I’d rather focus on the uses of AI in another company. You know a completely opposite place like working somewhere else that appreciates their people.

OP is a Citi HR post trying to change the sentiment on this site.
“Hey guys, lets have a constructive conversation about the exciting innovation of Citi AI and its use cases.”
