Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Heard 3000 will be cut in August

I heard it in hallways of PS3. People are still in shock digesting Dalvis leaving CSG PG.

@aj+1k195n2a3 - every large company does that. Easy way to avoid lawsuits from people who are unprepared for a WFR and need money now. You have a lot more options to sue if you have savings and can give the finger to the severance.

They'll get the sailors first before they throw the captains offboards.

I have explained this before. They figured out how to avoid the WARN notices by classifying so many as remote workers. The WARN only applies when you meet a certain threshold in one area.

Hopefully the 3000 includes all the failed gods of C-suite and the Sr.dirs who made millions while laying off the rest of the "low-level " humans. That would be the most satisfying layoff for all those employees who simply followed the directives and worked hard - only to be laid off by these "gods"

@a7

That is correct. Dell has a low budget for the legal team so they auto pay out the minimum 2 months to avoid lawsuits.

@a4 I think that is why they provide 2 months of severance. By paying out 2 months minimum, you are notified by the 60 day minimum.

I don't know that for certain, but pretty sure that is why they do it.

Wouldn't that trigger a WARN?
