Prior Year Bonus Payment?

Does anyone know if prior year bonuses are paid-out if an employee resigns before the pay date in the current year? Obviously I cannot ask our HRBP because they’ll know about my departure before I’m ready to give notice.

This is specifically about a US-based employee.

While we are it, does anyone know if the quarterly bonuses due to revenue generating plans are paid-out if the employee leaves before the paycheck arrives?

Thanks!

Read the employment manual. Employee at Dec 31.

Big nope. That's why they made it impossible to know if and when you'll ever get a bonus. Bonuses are sh-t now anyway.

No, you don’t get paid the bonus if you’re not employed on the date when it is supposed to be paid out. Don’t leave this to chance. SAP HR are very shrewd when it comes to departing employees. If you can then just do your time and then move out.

In Europe, I think the bonuses are paid in April...

@be Thanks. That lines up with what I was thinking.

Annual bonus is entirely discretionary, so it operates on "employed at date of bonus" requirement. If you leave, they will not give you the bonus.

Quarterly bonuses are more akin to commission and earned wages so I think there's a possibility you could get paid out what you've earned there.

I'm sure the procedures are fair. The board will ensure that.
