Thread regarding Ford layoffs

New AI software to see if meeting participants are contributing during call in meetings.

Lots of us just call into random meetings so it shows us as being busy in a meeting. Now, Ford has new AI software to see if participants are actually contributing.

Yea and we all know who does this because they are the hangers on at the end of a call. Many a recording is 2 hrs long bc ya'll park yourselves and drop until an hour after it ends. Good riddance

Let’s see supervisors and managers are dashboard and power point creators. All that can be done with AI. Let’s get rid of all the LL6 and LL5.

@be+1jztnh241 Tech exists but Ford never can get their act together to implement anything company-wide. They pilot something then the Ford saboteurs and backstabbers ensure it fails. No matter what the project they end up with some watered down inefficient end-game or a draconian end-game.

They can’t even do something as low tech as provide office supplies successfully.
They whipsaw between providing no supplies due to theft, to installing carousels at building exits with weight sensors and video to detect theft.

There was a voice of reason that said well why don’t you put all the supplies in a room, require people to badge in and out of the room and have security cameras in that one room. That guy was silenced. I always thought the silencers had a vested reason in ensuring the thefts could continue. Sure enough years later one of the LL5s was asked to leave as he had been caught taking loads of computer equipment, boxes of printer paper, and office supplies. This same je-k had years earlier sent out a scathing email about how we all were responsible for ensuring we bought and had spare pager batteries on us at all times. This after a guys pager battery died during the day and he missed a page. After that a lot of people had dead batteries out of spite. LOL

Stop it with the nonsense. You are getting paid to do a job. Be honest with yourself and with Ford.

BTW, here is info how Teams can repot: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-analytics-and-reports/teams-reporting-reference

You guys think way too highly of Ford technology. They don’t have systems to figure out when we leave the building or how to track vacation or sick time but you think they’re using AI to track meeting engagement?? Ok.

@ab It's easy. Teams uses AI to determine how much every person speaks as it takes notes. You can see it at the end of every meeting notes.

And then there's participants who take over meetings, talk over everone and won't let a person get a word in. Not that this EVER happens to meetings I call call in to.

@a7

Where you are right - "....ineffective HR people..." where you fell flat on your face - "....are doing something worthwhile."

You were almost there, but you kept going. HR people are never effective sir, ever.

This reminds me of WebEx messages, texted to supervisors and managers. They read it and never reply. Like deer and headlights on the road.

This is a great idea. Finally the ineffective HR people are doing something worthwhile. There are lots of useless teams meeting participants that need to be looked into.

I also heard they’re going to be using AI and attaching brain scanners to all desks to ensure you’re only thinking about work for 8 hours. <95% compliance places you on the layoff list.
