@be Has a point.
I joined Ford mid career as a GSR 8. The first few years got large salary bumps then as I hit the top of the salary band got very small to no raises for many years as there is a hard cap on the salary band. This went on for years and then came HTHD and I was able to receive raises again.
In contrast some of my co-workers joined Ford straight out of university and still are low-band GSR 8. There are guys with 40 years in making 100k-110K. For reference the GSR 8 salary band is 105k-177k
Now most of those with 40 yrs in were loafing and complaining about their lot. When one of the lifers became a LL6 they immediately complained about some of their GSRs making more money than they did, and wouldn’t ya know gave them bad reviews and ousted them. For reference the LL6 salary range has significant overlap with GSR salary range

Let's put a few things in perspective.

Bonus is out of your hands. You do you're best, and you get an FU percentage based upon the overall payout.

But, for a raise. If you are at the 2% or so amount, it means your salary is in line with average or better. If your raise is 5-7%, it means you were either a superstar, or you have always been underpaid. Makes people step back and think.

When I hired in, HR gave me an excellent salary, and four (4) weeks vacation to start. I found out after two years, a colleague of mine just earned their third week of vacation - and they had seven (7) years on me. I didn't say a thing. He probably got a better raise percentage than I did, but it wouldn't be enough.

Walking in the door gives you opportunity to do things over and above those prior to you.
