Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

wth is going on here?

I’m seeing a disproportionate amount of downvotes on every single negative post/comment about Intel, which is very uncharacteristic for this website where the vast majority of users are people trying to vent or talk cr-p about Intel anonymously.

The few comments that are getting upvotes sounds like they are written by a PR agent or by someone who really wants to hype Intel’s nonexistent future, yet browsing a site about layoffs during their free time?

Reeks of desperation

@171+1 Most of the post are from bots, so it makes sense that most of the votes are also from bots.

This site has a greater than average level of stupid comments.

Strip away those motivated by the stock, and those who are merely TSMC/NVDA fanboys, and what is left reflects the mentality of a typical fab technician...or a sheep.

@jf... actually, it started almost 10 years ago with the first round of unexpected layoffs in June of 2015. It has been followed by 2 major layoffs in 2016 and 2024 with constant smaller reductions along the way. During the past decade Intel has given up the process technology lead, products became less competitive, costs went up, margins shrank, and revenue dropped off a cliff. This is just to name a few issues.

When did Intel became the worst semiconductor company? How has our reputation fallen so badly. It’s now an embarrassment to work here and a weakness on one’s resume. wtf happened?!

The trolls are probably the thousands of people who lost their jobs or took VSP in Q4 and still can't find a job. The comments on this site are getting down right mean and hateful. A lot of pent up anger from people burning through their savings and retirements trying to salvage their lives.

@fn Work functions? Like there’s anything other than busy work to be done. Or should I go make a bunch of chips no one wants?

Did you see the news? You can quit the charade. Intel officially doesn’t exist.

@er

I know for a fact they actively come on here as part of their work functions

I highly doubt the downvotes are coming from HR. There’s really no incentive for HR people to do the extra work of going through every comment and trying to backtrack the poster’s identity like a big brother. It’s just not in their nature to do all that extra work.
Rather it’s probably the people who hold some sort of stake in the company’s image or someone who feels extremely insecure about their jobs right now: e.g. management folks who are really starting to reap the consequences of the 2024 Q4 layoffs (which the hand-picked btw) and realizing they are out of excuses for their own incompetence.

Just think of it as logic inversion, The most down voted posts one are the ones that pi-s Intel off the most and are most likely have a bit of truth to them.

A bunch of losers in an Intel lab somewhere have nothing better to do so they are downvoting everything anti Intel

@be stroked a string lmao! Look at the downvotes of the colony in support of its fellow monkey brained colleague.

Guy was slinging truth darts, but employees - at the company which can’t EVER commit to and hit a product deadline - have a very well known and extreme aversion to the truth.

@bf, solution: Starlink. How is Elon always there to save the day?

It is HR, and the fact that they are paying attention to this website should give any poster here something to consider.

They can easily tie a post here to you, if you are logged into the Intel network. Doesn't matter if it is your phone.

You have been warned about this several times.

Intel is happy to provide all the rope anyone needs to hang themselves.

@bd There’s that vaunted Intel logical reasoning. Or lack thereof.

OP is complaining about downvotes to negative posts about Intel…a disgruntled ex-employee is unlikely to be downvoting negative comments about Intel if, as stated, he/she is disgruntled.

Lotta baboon brains on this board. I wonder how many of them are on Intel’s actual Board of Directors.

The excessive downvotes are probably coming from the same person, likely a disgruntled ex-Intel employee with nothing better to do.

I think it’s rank and file. Doesn’t take very many. People are in the negotiation phase of stages of grief over Intel’s demise — if I force my coworkers to work like slaves the inevitable won’t happen.

Actually, the truth is that the Intel employees who voluntarily stayed are working harder to pick up the pieces from CPM. And help turn around Intel’s fortunes. That’s all there is to it. No HR here.

“They” know employees and shareholders are all over this site. Whenever “they” mention migraine news it’s mainly pointed at this site. Hence, “they” are trying to buck the trend.
