Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Dress code?

Is there a dress code here? I see flip flops , riped jeans, shorts, t-shirts..... I do remember before covid we were to have Polo's dress shirts and nice jeans. Closed tow shoes. Even my supervisor LL6 wears T-shirts..... But hay were all here.

@af and that's a cryin' shame.

eh, pre covid I wore T shirts. Back then my contributions mattered more than the presence or absence of a collar.

If we really want to bring it back to the good old days, fine, but I want to smoke indoors while I wear my suit.

Bet you that tu-d is going to be there tomorrow too and into next week.

Ford probably already cut back Janitor services by now. There is absolutely no Trailer Parks that offer red-carpet treatment to tenants.

@c7 there was a human tu-d on the bathroom floor today in our building, no amount of dressing up is going to make that classy.

I remember being over at Taylor Properties Main (this was a few years ago) and seeing someone in shorts at work. I reached out to our local HR rep and she responded that it was up to local management to determine the dress code.

Our group agreed to no less than business casual for several reasons including many interactions with vendors on site and the occasional executive leadership interactions.

Is there a Trailer Park in the vicinity of your Office?

Oh go complain elsewhere. My slob sloppy dress attire fits perfectly with the dirty smelly hole of a Ford building that I sit in to work all day. We're a match.

Maybe if I had a professional non-dump of an office to work in I might dress up. Hello Ford land?

If I have to buy fuel to "collaborate" the same way as I've done for the past few years then someone can deal with my jeans and a polo. Be glad we aren't coming in wearing PJ's.

Closed tow?

Dude, spend more time looking at a book than what people are wearing, the spelling in your post is atrocious. And we're not in pajamas, so all is good.

Who cares? The office is terrible, will a dress code really improve the abysmal facilities?

This is some big boo-er energy here.

@OP

A proactive worker would use this as a collaboration opportunity (bonus points if it happens to be cross-functional) to reinforce the concepts of appropriate work attire and pride in one's appearance.
