They should have done sh-tshow over Zoom. It has been 2 days of just partying another few millions we don't have wasted
Give him some time.
He’s only been there a couple of weeks.
As he learns more and more about the internal state of Intel, he’ll slowly get that feeling of dread and regret.
His focus on Culture, Customers, and Engineering Innovation is right on. While Intel has never been a customer oriented, the culture & engineering innovation made Intel great years ago. But when culture degraded and engineering innovation was replaced by financial innovation, Intel went down. Guess who is responsible for it: CEO & ELT. We got a new CEO. LBT needs a new ELT badly or else he will fail.
When you are in a hole...first thing to do is stop digging. LBT did that. Let's see if he gets the elusive whale that was much talked about last year.
The reality is that nothing has changed. Intel needs a well thought out dramatic shock to the system in order to break it out of its path to doom. It doesn't appear like this is going to happen. There might be pockets of productivity within the company but in general Intel has evolved into an overweight lazy bureaucracy. LBT was a hope for something new when it was announced that he is the new CEO. This has passed.
@bd is correct - nothing exciting at all. Meaning, no major changes announced which is telling. Also, does it matter if process nodes are behind? Wouldn’t intel want to design something great and have it built elsewhere? I guess we will see today with a products pitch
Many CEOs use speechwriters.

No pushups. I disappoint.
Teleprompter is fine. The problem is there’s nothing really new and exciting in his speech, essentially the same strategy, as what Pat has laid out, IDM 2.0, CPU inference, SW first, …. Even the culture thing is basically the old Grovian Intel-value wine in a new startup bottle. Maybe he meant startup benefits….
@af If he was proving he has vision, why wear the glasses?
ba-dum-tss
I’ll be here all night. Cash, grass, or pass (but leave the p-e out)
Obviously he did not want to say anything wrong or forget something in his first public speech as the CEO?
A teleprompter is just a tool anyone can use—CEOs, engineer, or even you! The presenter present without teleprompter doesn't mean he is a good CEO!
Talk is cheap. He needs to prove himself before I give him a pat (no pun intended) on the back.
He is proving he has a good vision by reading from a teleprompter.
Maybe focus on the strategy rather than his eyesight?
Or simply find something better to troll about, or maybe even just stay in your lane and do your job instead of posting every little random thought on the internet for all to smell.
He's speaking in a 2nd language. Are you really going to fault him for having prepared notes?
Oohhhh boy we are in trouble
I'll take a well-prepared speech that's read from teleprompter any day... rather than the fake and boisterous promises that the pastor gave, scamming all employees every time..
He clearly wrote that speech. I applaud him. He's awesome.
His actions will speak loudly compared to the usual PowerPoint that we are so used to
That was freaking brutal.
He said he will be hiring more talent. Forget about layoff now..chill and relax.
