Is there anything to get yourself mentally ready? I have been at NetApp for a long time, perhaps a blessing but I know it’s never easy.

I have been in this situation and who knows I may be again soon. By all means look for a job now and hold off on big purchases. If it comes for any of us, it won’t feel as bad as you may be dreading. If you are very anxious, please speak to your doctor.
This company is on an accelerating downhill slope. Unless the shareholders do something soon to replace most of the leadership, we will all be losing our jobs and customers will move on.
@bc you are a id--t, really how is someone suppost to believe this BS.
Im in a similar situation and I prepare my case. Save evidence for your view to negotiate a better package. Question in writing their steps without escalating. Make finding a new job your priority. Get career coaching if unsure. Put your energy in your future, not your past. There is way better companies out there than Netapp. Trust me, I have seen it. Last but not least, when overwhelmed use AI such as ChatGPT to get quick advice on relevant legal arguments & communication, this overcomes hurdles easily when under time pressure. Good luck! You might love your new life :)
Of course the main thing is to pray and not burn bridges ;)
