Conversations started already on KTD side and it is confirmed we will have layoff so be prepared I think leaders are probably already getting list ready.

@440 what long weekend? Monday always comes too fast.
I would still think July if one does happen.
@OP it’s obvious. All layoffs in kroger came before long weekend. And I am expecting it’s gonna come next week.
@42a Not sure if that would necessarily lead to layoffs though.
They have to know culture is at all time low, but its obvious they don't care. Not sure what a restructure would fix.
@427 heard rumblings today that a restructuring is coming. But no clue on scope or when
If stocks vest on 7/15, new stocks come 8/1. Wouldn’t you think it’s done before 7/15?
Anyways, no news yet right? Very odd people in senior leadership are leaving/retiring.
@355 definitely coming no doubt. They're outsourcing everything to India (capability Center). Kiss all the mid level jobs at GO and KTD goodbye. If an Indian can do it using copilot your job is gone.
Thankfully copilot is re--rded and can't do my job.
Any news on the next layoffs??
@2bp yup heard same and roles are no longer visible on our website or internal portals. Last year hiring freeze was applied around same time. Usually hiring freeze is followed with layoffs in next couple of months. I would assume this time they would wana do it before rsu vesting timelines!
Don’t usually like to stir this pot, but there’s a sudden hiring freeze and requests for resources are met with talk of potentially “freeing up budget elsewhere”. Seems like fertile ground for a head count reduction.
Pretty sure the change freeze is because of Mothers Day…
@28e isn’t the change freeze for the ongoing ecomm promotion?
It might be an indicator—I’ve had a few conversations this week with people in BTD and BTC that could point in that direction. With the Associate survey already being circulated, and recalling last year’s pattern where layoffs followed about a week after the survey, along with the current release restrictions over the next couple of weeks, it could suggest the possibility of an earlier-than-expected announcement. If that pattern holds, something as soon as next week wouldn’t be out of the question, though it’s still uncertain.
Haven't heard anything in KTD, but this would be perfectly in theme and a logical progression for 2026, cost cutting. Contracts all going offshore, freezes on promotions and hiring, etc. Spend less on humans and more on AI.
Really is this true?
Sounds like bullsh-t and I haven't heard anything similar.
KTD cannot function without its remote employees. There are hundreds in critical roles.
Kroger will not survive on local talent. It's been an issue for decades
@hn do you know if its only contractors ir full tume will be affected as well
@hn linkedin is for boomers
hope they fire me so i can collect unemployment instead of busting a-s for the mo--ns in management who can’t spell AI
KTD associate who are still working remote and contractors. If an associate is WFH in area with no stores, get on LinkedIn ASAP!
I am seeing conversations around contractor layoffs for sure so already heard those convos. The sign is straightforward asks on do we need this or that kind of talk. Also, on the all hands it was mentioned so strong signs
It’d be great if people gave more details instead of leaving everyone on a cliffhanger. If you know/hear something. Give more details. People’s livelihood is at stake, help the team out.
People saying “I see signs” cool. What signs?
@bb what are the signs?
What department?
KCC is gonna wipe out American jobs . This is your heads up.
Yep, i have been seeing some signs. Idk the size though
@OP care to elaborate?
