@fk "here is a government report saying government actions aren't harmful, per a government department.

I have watched the price of products i purchase increase due ro tarriffs inflicted. I am sorry, but when you and government tell me "dont trust your lying eyes" I'm not going to believe you. It is the same thing the Biden administration told me and I didnt trust them either.

I heard eisp offer 1st quarter across the board. From 3 separate sources. Makes sense with frontier purchase coming up. There will definitely be overlap.

Call center representatives need to be laid off. They allowed all the calls to be outsourced and feel they should be getting paid the same WFH as they do going to the office.

Cry Babies now you can have a taste of what it is like working for a small company with no benefits. It will take you many years to get a cushy job like you had in VZ.

@gb Bonusman, you make me long for the days when internet trolls were smart and witty which is clearly not your case.

There is still so much dead weight at this company. Mass firings are still sorely needed.

If your neck is on the chopping block, remember that it's your own fault. Gain control your own destiny and stop being a pathetic loser.

@bc it just came out last week there is no inflation from the tariffs.

Energy is what drives the cost of everything, the price of crude oil is down to $57 a barrel.

If tariffs are so bad, then how come India and China want them so bad?

How come those same two countries prospered with tariffs over the last 25 years?

1/3 of existing employees will be let go in 2026 due to Dan wanting to make Verizon more like a small scrappy startup, and save operations costs.

It’s all about A.I. now.

I can tell you that Dan is working to cut the package to align it with all big tech. Sam Hammock as always is ready to do anything to please Dan.

Definitely no VSP.

I also think they will go deeper than 13k. All telcos are gonna feel the race to the bottom.

@b8 such an id--tic post. The economic issues we are experiencing has been occurring since Carter and every president since has contributed to it. Trump's contribution happens to be tarriffs, which is just a tax. And like all taxes, they are passed on on cost to the consumer. So if you want to "tax corporations" you are taxing the consumer. It's no different.

More than ever, continuously updating skills is critical in today’s environment.

Organizations can survive leadership missteps and even recover from strategic errors, but when trust erodes at scale across the workforce, the damage runs much deeper and takes far longer to repair. At that point, uncertainty replaces alignment, and employees naturally begin to focus on self-preservation rather than long-term commitment.
When people no longer believe that decisions are transparent, fair, or in their best interest, engagement drops, collaboration suffers, and institutional loyalty weakens.

This is not a reflection of individual failure—it’s a predictable response to prolonged instability. In these moments, waiting for systems to correct themselves is risky.
That’s why taking ownership of your own growth has become essential. Investing in skills, adaptability, and relevance is no longer just about career advancement—it’s about resilience. Regardless of organizational outcomes, those who continue to learn, evolve, and stay market-ready are better positioned to navigate change, protect their careers, and create optionality for the future.

In uncertain environments, self-development isn’t selfish—it’s strategic.

There will be no VSP's in 2026, only RIFT's. The rift payout is more cost effective. VSP's are voluntary RIFT's are not.

No VSP, That demonstrates being indecisive. Dan is an all business decision maker. Let your supervisor know if you want to stay or go next round during your performance appraisal.

I don’t know and more importantly I no longer care. It’s someone else’s problem.

My guess is that they’ll continue laying off haphazardly based on faulty perceptions of who is essential and who isn’t then having to hire replacements once reality catches up with the faulty perceptions. Rinse and repeat!
